Right now im fading between two thru machines by having a scene wheren i bring the volume to max on machine a and bring the volume to min on machine b and on scene two i do the exact oposite. I was wondering if this is the correct way to do it or if i do it this way the overall volume will be decreased if i keep the cross fader in the middle?
Welcome @Tribot.
Using XLEVEL MIN/MAX on scenes is the correct way.
The volume is decreased in the middle position. You can compensate it a bit by increasing VOL on the XLEVEL MIN scene.
Thanks! But isnt the xvalue a min or max? And is there a perfect value to increase it in the middle?
Okay , thanks this makes some sence but for me its vague what is meant with “accordingly” it seems a bit vague to me.
It just means that if you lock XLV/XVOL/XDIR to the scenes then you’ll get an equal energy fade when you use the crossfader.
Okay so i lock these three parameters to min or max?
You use both if you want crossfades, the way you said you’re doing it in your OP should be fine.
XDIR XLVL and XVOL can be set to Min or Max only (0% or 100%). You can set DIR, LVL and VOL independently.
Possible to find it with a phase cancelation test.
