New fella here, sorry if this question has an obvious answer.
I have an external midi controller (Arturia Keystep) controlling the Digitakt.
I am trying to set it up to record drums live where each key on the keystep has a different drum sound. I can’t get it to switch off the chromatic mode and set to only one sound.
Does anyone know of a way to do that?
If you put the Keystep in the lowest octave, the lowest 8 keys should each trigger a different track (1-8, respectively). I found this out by accident, but it’s a nice little shortcut for what you want.

You’re right, I see that now. I hate to hear RTFM but I totally deserve it here.
I wasn’t slyly trying to say rtfm, it’s actually easy to miss this as it’s a small blurb and doesn’t get mentioned again. I was providing where it could be found officially just in case you needed the info.
Using pads to trigger the tracks is quite nice. I use an mpd24 on my digitakt
