When trying to use the external in as described in Appendix B: FX TRACK PARAMETERS in the manual, I only get a very short delay or reverb no matter how I set the corresponding effect. Here is what I do - Plug in guitar to In Left, go to the Ext In page of FX and turn up volume for the left channel, the reverb and the delay. I only get some default delay and reverb on the input.
Question is: how to route the sound through the reverb or delay and getting the real effect (with out using a synth track)?
I’d imagine that the guitar level is too low, so try a line level source in the meantime, also be aware that if the sequencer (if running) was previously in record mode you could have parameter locks affecting the fx settings hidden on the fx track, clear that in grid edit mode and also ensure you don’t have any static performance macros overriding the fx settings or send amounts - you don’t need to trig anything as far as I’m aware
Well, it may have done something, but for the sake of clarity … if i clear a kit and use an empty pattern, the fx will sound just fine if the external-in level is then lifted along with the sends from that one settings page - absolutely no trigging, no transport and no adjustments needed, if the fx settings are adjusted the changes will be heard, no trigging, no transport
This also worked for me, after trying it some times. It seems to me that when I am changing pattern the effect settings changes when I press play, until then it hangs/stays in the previous setting… I will be trying more to try to make myself some conclusion - thanks for the help!
This makes a bit more sense if we start to think of kit settings being attached to a new pattern … it’s all a matter of how and when the Kit is loaded then, just trying to follow what it is that affects these things !
