Exquisitely Sounding Corpse 38 aka Corpse Reviver

No sampler here at the moment either so I put through a bunch of Fors fx and a few others.
4 x Jolts, each with an LFO modulating the distortion, then a Retur delay, another Jolt, an Ableton pitch shifter (just 20% wet), a Superplate, EQ 8, Radiator and a little Echoboy at the end.
Crunchy.

I took the nice tape saturated corpse from @Affectionate-Bee-781 compressed it and saturated a bit more, sliced and re-arranged plus slight tempo change upwards to 112BPM in bitwig. Looped and tweaked in some bit reduction/degration. Final loudness boost at the end.

My OT feasted on @B_LD’s rather exquisite corpse and then took this giant dump:

Gory Details

I grabbed @B_LD’s corpse, sliced it up in the Octatrack, and bumped the tempo up further to 146. I pitched (and compressed) a kick to provide a sense of harmonic motion, found a snare and sculpted it a bit with the filter. Same with hats, plus a little delay and panning. Created a melodic element by looping a tiny snippet of a kick, single-cycle-style, and running it through the comb filter, chorus, filter, delay and reverb (using neighbor tracks). I ran the whole dirty mess through the master track with spatializer on FX1 and a shit ton of comp and gain on FX2. Recorded into DAW with some Soothe and limiting. Still sounds like shit, but it’s a corpse for fuck’s sake

Good stuff here. This is the original Beat into SP 404 mk2.
Sliced, pitched, delay, crusher, ringmod and 303 Vinylsim and compressor on Bus 3 & 4.

There’s some nice corpses and re-corpses been done already … really happy to see so many contributions!!

I’m pretty sure there’s more to come – we’ve been quite tame so far, haven’t we?! :smiling_imp:

V2

Took the V2 from @sezare56. Recorded into the Torso S-4. Looped the end from it. Performed something within the Torso Fx chain. Filter, granular, dirty compressed noise, reverb… Made one first version. Read again the rules (@waftlord advise) … Made a short snippet of my long form. So…

Just for the record, what snippet did you use as a basis? (just edit you post with that info ;-))

Used og @B_LD beat and a small slice from @sezare56 for some texture… is that allowed? Greedy corpsing?
On the DT looped the original beat, added plenty of delay, overdrive and some SRR. LFOs modulating delay and SRR. Used werp to make a glitchy loop from sezare’s beat. Some compression and run through AH2 for a bit of distortion and crunch.

There’s no rule saying you can’t feast on two corpses. The original idea, as I understand it, is monogamous delight. The crowd may speak up in case of objections.

Frankensteining is frowned upon unless funky.

Snatched some small tasty parts from the corpse V2 of @sezare56.
On SP 404 mk2 made this beat with slicing, pitching, SX Delay and 303 Vinylsim and compressor on bus 3+4.

I took @jawside’s corpse and had my way with it in the OT. It’s unrecognizable from the original at this point.

Details

I found a couple of single cycles from the end of @jawside’s corpse and turned them into synth voices. I harvested a kick and a snare and shaped them to my liking. I also found something I could shape into something resembling a hihat. Added some FX and that’s it.

One more bump to put this in focus. Dreadful jamuary is gone. Hope y’all survived.
This challenge has no official ending and can live forever, but in case anyone feels entitled to take it to the next level, feel free to start a follow-up challenge #39! :rocket:

I hope this corpse continues to live and evolve forever. While I lack the confidence to throw my own scalpel into the autopsy, it’s been a lot of fun watching this particular corpse decay and evolve in new and interesting ways.
