I started using effect just a few months back. I used to use the effect in my VS-1880 which is fine for when I’m mastering or finalizing a song but which is not practical when playing and jamming.
I had no idea of the world of effect pedal before then, so I started learning about it. I started with the Boss DD-7 which is great and loved the stereo input as well as the looper, so then I got the Avalanche Run for stereo reverb and delay in one pedal with the Ditto x4, which is a match made in heaven for my Mopho. I then got the tc-electronic Polara reverb to go with the DD-7 for my other instrument.
Now I played with the Zoia which wasn’t my thing, and I want to continue my exploration of effect. I don’t think a distortion is so good with analog synth ( I have the mopho and the medusa), but I feel like a flanger/phaser/chorus might be interesting. I really like looper although I am not too familiar yet with their whole process (still learning the dittox4). I also realized that some pedal can be controlled from midi which was awesome with the DT (and will probably as awesome on the OT which is in the mail).
So I’m wondering what would be next as far as exploring effects? I like stereo pedal that have midi input, but not married to the idea. I understand that I’ll probably buy a few more pedals and test what is nice about them and resell them until I find the perfect match. I’m not looking into having too many pedal, like creating a whole pedal board for guitar, but just 2 or 3 powerful pedal that works well together.
Few of the pedals I was looking at: Blooper (which seems so over priced for a mono pedal) EchoSystem from empress and Julianna from Walrus audio. (oh and the komo rebi from dreadbox just because it’s so pretty)
Anyway - let me know what you like and how you use effect pedals with your synth/sampler, my setup is mopho/medusa/ot/typhon
