Eventide H90 pedal

Ahh, that’s good to know. But 30 seconds could be useful too for a lot of things… I’m thinking slow ambient transitions/morphing between spaces.

Yeah, sure. it works great.
With some algos there’s a small audio drop\latency when switching between programs.
This issue was reported, and Eventide said they’re looking into it.

i’m using it with a modular with no issue with levels and not needing to attenuate. i’m using the “line” level setting.

i think it pairs perfectly with a modular and responds really well to cv modulation.

Eventide Audio introduces the new PolySynth algorithm – a fully polyphonic guitar-to-synth transformer – for its flagship H90 Harmonizer® multi-effects pedal. PolySynth applies the proprietary SIFT (Spectral Instantaneous Frequency Tracking) technology found in Eventide’s Polyphony, Prism Shift, and PolyFlex algorithms, and builds on the earlier work done for the HotSawz pitch-tracking monophonic synthesizer algorithm, to deliver polyphonic waveform synthesis. Sounds created with PolySynth can recreate the input into a full-on synthesized sound or be blended with the source tone for effects from subtle to profound.

PolySynth’s feature set includes three voices with independent level, shift amount, and wave shape control; LFO modulation of the filter cutoff, pulse width or volume, and pitch modulation; expressive envelope control of the filter cutoff frequency; and adjustable attack time. Performance parameters can be frozen to create an infinitely sustaining synth sound. Spread and Detune controls can create massively wide and hugely deep sounds. Upgrading H90 Control to version 1.7.1 is recommended before installing this update.403598911_10162181153115649_6226451035759454400_n

Anybody create a preset bank geared towards Synth use?
I find a lot of the default presets are designed around guitar use and don’t always translate so well.

I’m surprised they didn’t include presets for the H90 to process external keyboards/synths.

The Line 6 Helix family has such presets,

Just heard about the above demo from the violinist who appeared in the video. He promised to do demos of presets he created for electric violin and we’re holding him to it.

This demo on bass guitar is also cool

Still love my H90, in fact I just bought 2 more this past week. Got rid of my strymon stuff to get 2 more. One came already and the other will be here soon. So I’ll have 3 lol.

My dream since getting my 1st H90 when it came out is to have 3.

This way I can route left H90 into insert 1 of the middle H90 and route right H90 into insert 2 of the middle H90.

Super powerful!

However I really need the inserts / fx loop to be a little more flexible please if it can be done…

Right now you cannot put insert 2 in front of insert 1 when they are close together anywhere in the path in series or parallel. I find this very limiting since every other modeler out there that has 2 fx loops or more is able to do it.

Also in parallel, you can put insert 1 and insert 2 sandwiched between algo A and algo B but again it’s only insert 1 into insert 2, no 2 into 1… and no insert 1 and 2 on top of each other for their own parallel path which would be cool.

So if you find this is something you’d like and you really should since it makes it more flexible, then go suggest it in the eventide H90 wish list forum and make your voices heard!

Yep, more flexibility with regards to ins/outs and inserts is really needed. However, they indicated that the next update will include some changes in this regard. The dream would obviously be a 4x4 matrix mixer but I doubt that this will happen.

I didn’t see them say that anywhere about the next update including insert changes?

A little BROCKOTRONICS aka Frippertronics thing…

LFOs?

Love my H9s but have always found it frustrating that they can’t handle being controlled by external MIDI CC messages - they always become unresponsive after a while with CCs. I’ve only ever found them stable with PCs and MIDI clock - anything else and they just stop working after a while, would never trust them for a live show. I’ve heard it’s a MIDI bandwidth issue that many other devices don’t share (they are older devices in all fairness). How stable/reliable is the H90 for external CC control through the MIDI ports? (e.g. multiple MIDI LFOs, some CC automation from Ableton etc.)

Can’t wait for this new update! The H90 has been my best gear purchase in years! For the price of 2 “fancy” pedals I got 2 slots to load over 50 high end effects, with super flexible routing and there are like 5 new high quality algos added to it since launch!

I cleared off around 10 “fancy” pedals after getting the H90 as it covers so much. Have been eyeing a Gen Loss type lo-fi effect for quite a bit so if this new update has one I might be tempted to get another unit :grimacing:
