Eve SC307 vs Dynaudio LYD48 for Techno?

Hey all,

As in the title, looking to buy some new Monitors. I don’t have the option to audition unfortunately, so would really value some advice?

I was first set on the Eve’s but then I worry about the low-end extension as the LYD48’s go down to 31Hz apparently. Also I’m slightly worried about the size of the Eve’s in comparison. But then I keep finding people who rave about the sound of the EVE’s. So really can’t decide now!

I know there is also a Eve 2070, but too soon for any reviews so far…

OK, not really an advice, but I tried Eve SC305s and
LYD 8s 2 years ago (and others)
My thoughts:
I really liked the SC305s a lot. Very nice stereo,
they can do that 3D thing. I liked the ribbon sound much
more than expected, no fatigue.
Lot´s of fun to listen to all kinds of music…
But: I also tried “bad” material and some of it almost sounded
“too good”. I had a (bad) reference track from youtube
with ugly distortions in the higher frequencies and they actually
sounded quite Ok on the Eve´s.
Anyway, I miss them quite a bit, especially for listening music.
But these had definitley not enough bass.
Was thinking about getting the SC307s, but they
are a bit too big and, to be honest, a bit too ugly for my place (living room).

I don´t really know what to say about the LYD8s.
Bass was good, they revealed the bad distortions mentioned
before quite well. Maybe not bad for mixing, but I just didn´t like them…

I know it´s a PITA but I suggest to try your new monitors
at your place. It´s really worth it.
Otherwise you just buy something and you have no comparison at all…

I´m pretty sure I´d prefer the Eve´s, even if they have less bass.
But I can´t know. Some people seem to like the LYDs.

It still leaves me in the same dilemma, but I really appreciate your feedback and advice! =)
Good point about finding out what they sound like in my studio. Thanks.
