It seems this device is now shipping - would it be possible to use it in a small case + power, with desktop synth ? And two fx units in that shelf? Is there additonal conversion needed ?

I’ve had one for about 2 months and have been very happy with it. In order to use it with desktop sources I would recommend some euro line in modules as I’ve found that even when maxing the per channel gain knob, line level instruments were still a little low.

The pre fader insert - does it mean you could put a insert FX into the chain? Ie. compressor, wavefolder ? Or is this only a send FX?
It means whether the signal is sent to the effects chain prior to the volume attenuation by the fader or after.
This is what mine looks like this morning (a bit unpatched at the moment, as I just rearranged things). It’s in a rack dedicated to mixing/effects, which can be connected to other racks via the RJ45 module in the top left corner. (Or normal, long cables, but the Doepfer Multicore helps me keep things tidy.)
I mostly use it with euro, but I have plugged things straight in (although I tend to agree with @serenitynow13 that some additional gain can be useful – there are a few modules in that rack and elsewhere in my system that can be pulled into that job).

How much HP is that for this setup? Any Idea about weight? Any dimensions for this? Looks super dope!
The rack is a 104 HP Intellijel Palette (you can find dimensions for that on the IJ website). It weighs… a few pounds? Five? Six? It’s not heavy.

and the expandability is genius (expander ports)
they are planning to create several new channel input expanders on top on what they already offer
like a drum input expander that is voiced specifically to bring drums into the mixer meaning mono inputs with tone shaping and bus control that is designed to birng in mono sugnals (drums)
