it sounds really good, I’m digging that vactrol based filter, expensive though.

Sounds downright amazing. :heart_eyes_cat:

It does sound lovely. I hope they release a kit at some point. $1900USD is expensive.

Doesn’t sound like this would need an AH to beef it up! Damn, this thread prompted me to look at what Metasonix have in production and I can’t afford.

Tube distortion does sound wonderful.

Thats a doofus place to put all those tubes. Just sayin…

It’s definitely a very unique voice and full of character and expressiveness … amazing.

How would you transport it about?
Would you have to take all the tubes off?
Take a look at how many guitar amps have their tubes showing like this, then ask why they hide them in the back.
I mean, it sounds great, but I’d be petrified of damaging them tubes.

Maybe they offer a metal case thing to protect the tubes?
If not, it should be easy to diy such protection.

I don’t see audio in! That’s a major omission.

I have 48u of rack space I can’t afford to fill. But I have (had) it all planned for when my finances should pick up. And then I opened this thread…Anybody have or heard these in the real world?

I love the timbre of this synth.

I was obsessed with the CHRT synth last year as well. I’m still looking for a signature voice for my LinnStrument: i.e. something that’s limited, but expressive and rich in character. The paraphonic/duophonic aspect of this one got my attention in particular.

I see that Erica Synths has a line of tube-based modules now too, so maybe it’s worth investigating a simple modular solution along the same vein.

Anyway… I dig this thing. Would make a great conversation peace too.

Cheers!

The first video is also a pretty great demo.
Somehow reminds me of Ministry - Primental Live 82.

In the youtube video comments Eternal Engine EMI replied to a comment with:

“We can add audio input individually as an option.”

Nice!

I asked about MIDI implementation for aftertouch, and they responded in kind as well, offering to add it on request… Very accommodating.

I’m seriously considering this synth. Just waiting to see a few more demos.

Cheers!

Sounds nice.

The $1000 (or RUR 75,000) question: what’s the cost of adding external input, aftertouch? I doubt the accommodation is for free.

I don’t know. I didn’t ask, and they didn’t say.

I’m sure it’s not free, but I didn’t get the impression that it would be a huge undertaking; particularly with regards to any mods to the MIDI implementation.

The possible MIDI destinations are limited to the non-analog components though: i.e. LFO controls, envelope stages, etc. Unfortunately, the Drive control and whatnot can’t be accessed via MIDI. That said, the tube circuits do respond dynamically to input levels, so I reckon lots of expression could be had simply by controlling aspects of the LFO and envelope. Aftertouch to Env Sustain, Mod-Wheel to LFO amount, for instance… I reckon that would offer a fair bit of expressive control. I’ve been told that the LFO goes up to 100Hz, so it could be used as a noise/FM source to limited capacity even.

Cheers!
