Erica Synths PĒRKONS HD-01

A guy living just 5minutes away from my house “was” selling a Perkons. I send him a message yesterday and got to meet at his place today to test it. After seeing Perkons in person and playing around with it for a bit, I decided to take it home. :see_no_evil:
Had to pay a littlte bit more than I initially wanted to, but it’s a black one and it seems in a really nice conditon.
first pattern:

f this works out for me like I have in mind, probably no Drumding for in the near future.

Infectious AF.

Good shit man. I’d make sure it’s updated before you get too cozy.

Sampling aside, there were some tweaks up some sounds, for the better IMO.

Thanks!!

I’ll update it tomorrow. It’s on OS 1.2 now.

After spending a few hours with Perkons, I can only say, this is FUN!
And it feels like I’m only scratching the surface and keeping things fairly modest.

64 steps to sequence or at least be able to save chained pattern sequences. Now every time you power off Perkons and restart it again the pattern chaining you made before has gone and you need to start over.

As a new owner of a Pērkons it’s nice to see all these feature requests here, but wouldn’t it be more usefull to send them to Erica Synths, since they’re working on a major update and I don’t think they’re reading this?

But I’ll join :upside_down_face: with my first feature requests…after a few days of use, things that I would like to see implemented are samples per bank for voice 4 and delay and master settings saved in the patterns.

edit: I’ve made a ticket on the Erica Synths website with my requests

Hi, how you do a ticket in Erica Synths website? I could send some requests too. I am pretty sure that people in Erica are actually reading these kind of user forums but you never know for sure.

On the Erica Synths webpage, go to “support” and click 'other subjects". Here you can make a ticket for a suggestion.

I used own samples but did not saved the original sample files…does anybody know how to get them back?

Just remove the samples folder from the SD card and they re-appear on the device. They cannot be overwritten, just temporarily replaced.

Thanks, they actually answered quite fast. There wont be 64 step sequencer option in the future or pattern chain saving option but maybe something else.

Btw I made a short techno jam with Perkons, Radias and JP-8080: https://youtu.be/u6Oc4l2fEgM

Hi there, did you get to the bottom of this?

I have just received a black Perkons and can report the same.

It is extremely quiet compared to the blue one I used to have!! Like gain is maxed out and it’s still too quiet using headphones. Like the compressor is mandatory to get a usable signal.

This was not the case on my blue unit.

Bummer. Seems weird (but not unfathomable) that there would be a difference between the gens. Making me appreciate my cockpit Perkons even more

Weird – my black Perkons is plenty hot in terms of output level.

On reflection it’s hard to tell. But I remember the blue unit being louder.

Basically I have to engage the compresssor in some way for it to be a good signal. No compressor at all and the output feels low to me, but has it always been like that?!?

Going mad here. Not that it matters. Still sounds great!

I have the turquoise one - never had another.
But if you like, we could do a comparison with recorded audio (same parameter settings)
I always use the compressor, so i don’t really know how loud/quiet my perkons voices really are…but i never felt unsatisfied this way.

Did you miss the perkons area808?
I enjoyed a lot of the music you made with the perkins and was a 'lil shocked when you sold your first one.

Currently i am using the perkons as a 4-voice (drone-) synth, sequenced by t1. I got argon8M and minilogue og for polyphony n the setup, too. And for drums the drumlogue.

Lot’s of fun!

Thanks for saying. That’s good of you to offer but I’ve jammed with it for a couple of hours and it does sound great. It’s possibly a bit quiet, but it’s certainly not broken. Its deffo not worth testing.

I did miss it yeah mate. It’s not perfect by any stretch but to achieve the same thing you really do need lots of nice stuff to do what it does. Its actually a great deal £££ when you think about it like that.

Music got a lot harder and way more tedious when it left, so here I am :+1:

I’ve found Erica’s support to be extremely prompt and helpful, so would recommend pinging them on the black vs TU-95 edition loudness.
