That is awesome. Finally I can load individual instruments.
I love this synth and have had it for a little over 6 months but am hitting a wall in terms of sound design, anyone have some basic tips to get me unstuck?
try experimenting with morph features
Maybe look at the available kits for inspiration?
The new LXR-02 I bought because Brendan Clarke’s firmware fixes all the things that previously messed with my workflow has just arrived.
To hit the ground running, I’ve extracted all sound design tipps from this thread into a pdf. I guess there might be some stuff in it for you.

Maybe also this overview over the sound architecure by Sonic Potions:

Wow thank you this is awesome I have some direction now
just ordered another one after selling mine a year or two ago - this firmware interests me
can anybody recommend a midi controller for lxr02 that isn’t novation?
I have thought about that, too. That thing has about 230 parameters, half of which are NRPN.
IMHO the Novation LaunchPad XL 3 is not particularly suited, neither is the Neuzeit drop, I don’t see an obvious way to map the 230 parameters in a way I’d remember them, and I guess they’re to much to write on a template, too.
So here’s what I think the requirements are:
- NRPN support
- display for parameter names
- simple navigation between multiple pages
- encoders (otherwise things parameters jump around, or it feels like the knobs don’t react)
Not too many options, I am aware of, cheapest option that ticks all the boxes is Faderfox EC4. You can set it up so that clicking an encoder selects a different page, that lets you move effortlessly around instruments. Will take some effort to map them all, but with the online editor and a bit of planning that’s doable.
Other include Elektra One Mini or mk3, however I think the MK3 with touch screen would make navigation faster.
Maybe OXI E16 can do that, too, it has NRPN and a display for parameter names, and it supports the MIDI controller database, alas, the entry for the LXR-02 does not contain NRPN at the moment, but I think we can just send a patch for that.
The same database is used by Elektra, and also by Condukt (iPad), which I think might also be a viable option for some
The only thing holding me back from programming my EC4 is that Brendan Clarke’s firmware might use different controller numbers, and/or even include relative controls. I’d hate to do that twice.
So maybe I’ll compile a patch for the controller database and try conduct first.
ec4 came up for me too - but would not update the firmware - just use it to break out of the lxr02 menu in the erica synth firmware - will try this and see what it yields
look at intech studio controllers
would be interested to see how those Fader Fox MIDI controllers work out for you and the LXR02 as it would be super useful for me to use with mine and the Waldorf M.
