@KMBN Let’s take that to the LXR-02 thread to be on topic.
Ok, that took me a while. You mean you have to control all voices on the master channel, but you want it to respond to CCs in each individual channel.
I think the original intention was to play the whole thing on one channel.
You could use a Blokas MIDI hub for remapping, it’s AI friendly, so you would not have to do that remapping by hand. You’lll need a lot of pipes if you want to remap everyhting, (way more than 127), so are well advised to find out how many pipes the MIDIhub can take without messing with timing.
My assumption is that you want to drive the LXR from a Elektron sequencer, so maybe you can just set up the most relevant pipes and leave out the rest? Or set up a few presets with different combinations of pipes.
That is the path that is open to you right now.
However, let me explain what’s out there:
The feature you wish for already exists for the original LXR: Brendan Clarke has implemented per channel MIDI-CC in his Catalyst firmware, which was branched from the original LXR firmware version 037.
I’m sure we can talk about that here, because Julian Schmidt has open-sourced his firmware intentionally, so that people could evolve the capabilities of their LXR. That’s why several variants have existed for a long time.
Incidentally, as @mreilly pointed out a few years ago, the firmware of the LXR-02 builds on an earlier iteration of Brendan Clarke’s version, but removes and also adds a couple of features.
And since I’m sure we are not going to censor the past here, I guess I can point out that earlier in the thread here we can find a post that shows that Brendan has ported LXR firmware 037 to the LXR-02.
So two branches — both descendants from 037, both open source, and both created by Brendan Clarke, who appears to diligently maintain knowledge files used for AI-assisted coding — need to be combined again. And Erica Synths needs to accept that new firmware, of course, for anyone to actually consider flashing it to their LXR02.
Until that happens, a path that is open to you right now is getting the original LXR.
BTW: what I missed the most in my LXR-02 was a way to load an existing sound into a single voice of the current pattern.
