Ha. I wish I worked for a synth or drum machine company! No I just saw that they were announcing on Oct 16 and so I googled “hexdrums manual” yesterday and nothing came up. But then I looked it up again this morning and it did.
Reading the manual with my morning coffee: The sequencer has per step probabilities and odds, micro timing and play direction. ![]()
Heartwarming „story“. Nevertheless, thanks for not resisting the urge to create an account here just to spread the news in an act of unprecedented selflessness.
Ha. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Just read the manual. Drums/voices are hard panned in the stereo field when you use the main out. Does seem like this can’t be changed. Consequently you’d need a mixer for flexible panning from the individual outs
Having that little bit of sampling makes this very GASSY now for me.
That’s the one thing I’m also not sure about. I assume it sounds great but… what if one thing is panned weirdly and you don’t like it???
User Samples will override the 10 factory Cymbal & Ride samples according to the manual, The samples must be 48 kHz, 16 bit mono. You can have a 10 sets of two. Nice. No mention of size/length limit though.
you’re being a very bad boy mr Jerk ![]()
Well, I AM a jerk. ![]()

Apparently clips don’t embed.
I assume what is meant here is that the panning is pre-determined and fixed per voice when routed to the main outs? E.g. toms spread somewhat from left to right, hihat slightly to one side etc.
If yes, this is similar to the Tanzbär and other MFB drum machines. I think it’s an OK approach in absence of an on-device pan control. If you can live with the default configuration. If not, there’s no way around the individual outs.
When I see “hard” panning I think 100% left or right, so the wording had me confused for a second.
I’d actually like to see/hear how these voices are panned. I still rarely pan but am sure it makes a lot of sense, maybe there’s something I can learn from these default plannings that should always kinda work?
Many Hexdrums demos are in stereo, starting with the official teaser, if you need to hear the result.
Hi
Im thinking of buying pre order but was wondering if it’s worth waiting till it hit the stores in the Uk due to all the extras with importing it in to the UK
I’ve worked it out roughly £1,309.40 importing
Does it actually sample?
Or just play back samples?
Playback samples.
It would be great if they adapted and integrated the Sample Drum module, that would probably be amazing! But I imagine a lot of things anyway =)
