Envelope filter effect for external audio?

Hello friends— I am trying to use my A4mkII as an envelope filter (wah-wah effect) for my 0-coast. I have a track set up per the “use as filter bank” in the manual. I get the external audio perfectly, and the filter works fine with no envelope. But I am having trouble getting the envelope to retrig per note. I have the dot-shape set up in the envelope, so it should reset to zero on retrig. I have note trigs set up in the sequencer set to retrig the envelope at the right times. But there is no discernible difference; I cannot hear any filter envelope attack, only constant filter cutoff.

Does anyone have a recipe for this kind of effect I can look at?

It’s not an envelope follower.
The filter needs to be triggered by sequencer notes or external midi.
Did you increase ENV DEPTH ?

Start with a new sound.

Make sure Env(F) is toggled on in the note page…

Bonus thought: with cv inputs I think you could make it a real wah-wah by attaching an expression pedal.

He says he has note trigs on the sequencer to retrig the envelope…

I know but as I was mentioning external midi, I wanted to precise both, to avoid confusion…

Thanks everyone— I now got it to work, not by meaningful science but by randomly tweaking cutoff and attack until I could hear something.

Yes, I did have trigs. My next goal is to avoid that step by routing the gate CV from 0-coast to retrigger the envelope… Judging from the CV control in the menu it does not seem to be possible to retrigger envelope with CV :crying_cat_face:
