What are you getting?
Nothing at the moment, but Ive been curious about a few of them and havenāt really found much info/discussionsā¦ I guess Iām eyeballing the model q2 since itās the most affordable and smallest form factor but the Entanglement Space has appealed to me for a while. It seems more āperformableā since you can process external signalsā¦ do you have any recommendations/observations?
I got my first D+ 20 days ago, I could choose between MQ2 or going full on crazy with a Programma900, I choose the former, mainly for budget constraints. Fast forward two weeks later, I got myself an Entanglement Space which just arrived a few days ago and I am working my way to find a used Cells. Beware, they are very intoxicating devices. Like losing yourself in sounds so deeply for several hours each time you turn them on.
I think MQ2 is a perfect entry into D+ world though, because is not so expensive, itās easy to operate straight out of the box, and you can get a sense about the audio quality of sounds (especially the DSPs are a work of genious) and the possibilities of the instruments.
What you realize when you get one is that, beyond the marketing videos and the intimidating spec sheet, the instruments are quite intuitive to use and all are made for performances. Entanglement Space is also very easy to operate straight out of the box. The manuals are like 6 pages with a few drawings and notes and you are good to go.

Cool, thanks for the info! The model q2 looks pretty sweet. Curious if youāve paired yours with other banana gear? It would be cool it if could send out modulations to my Double knot, but I imagine Iād also have fun just using it by itself, culling out different sounds to sample.
Btw, if you donāt mind me asking, how much did you pay for yours? Did you buy it directly from Kirkis?
These are my first banana devices, so I only paired them with one another. I donāt think MQ2 needs much modulation though, having 6 modulators onboard, but I just bought a banana to eurorack converter so that I can exchange CV signals between my semi-modulars and D+ instruments.
I bought my MQ2 secondhand, spent around 1200 euros + shipment + cables, with PSU included (I am EU based and bought from a fellow european).
I see there is another one on Reverb for similar price. A new unit from D+ would costs like 1300 euros + import duties + VAT (itās made in UK).
Oh yeah, was mostly thinking of using the MQ2ās modulators to send out to other gear, if it had a compatible voltage range.
I did see that Reverb listing. I noticed that shipping makes it closer to $1600 usd and then I may still have to pay import duties shipping to the USā¦ might be out of my price range at the moment, but I am temptedā¦ I really do love esoteric beep boop machines.
Voltage range is reported to be 0-5v so you can send it to eurorack but if you need Buchla range (I think is 0-10v) youāll have to boost the signal.
Yeah if you live in the US I think it will be better to order directly from D+, but I donāt know if import fees are higher from EU or from UK.

This looks like a fusion between MQ2 and P900, the envelope matrix looks really exciting. I also like the addition of a screen. And the software could be really interesting to use with the Gemini integration, creating a dialogue with the LLM.
On the Discord they floated around a 1.800 GBP price.

Iām eagerly anticipating the arrival of a model q2. First destiny + gear and a return to banana for me (wish I hadnāt sold my others now). A couple of questions for usersā¦
Mine wonāt come with a power source. Is there anything I should know except matching voltages?
Does the midi host provide power - I think I read somewhere that itās didnāt (odd) ?
What gear have you found to be great friends? Iām thinking opxy, octatrack, and Norns would be good (although I need to sell the opxy I think to pay for new things)

Yeah it can be controlled over USB midi to send triggers but it also can be self triggering.
