End of chain stereo headphone pedal

I’m looking to add a simple headphone pedal. It must be stereo and serve as a regular output as well.
Does anyone have a recommendation ?

To discuss further, I’m super frustrated that some pedals don’t have headphones outs. In my case, I’m more precisely talking about Zoia and Chroma Console. I just want to play with them in my living room !

I think you could use something like one of those small moukey stereo mixers, or other cheap in line style. Should work fine for headphones or end of the line output.

I had some concerns about whether they would have line noise due to being powered at 5V, but people seem to be getting good results.

You could buy an expensive something or other, but maybe unnecessary for your purposes.

Mixing link looks interesting but it’s not a stereo pedal. That said, it has a aux input that could possibly work.

Line 6 HX Stomp.

Ditto the Line 6 HX Stomp.

Well, I might have been unclear, maybe because of the “end of chain” in my thread title, but I’m looking for a cheap pedal that does nothing except providing a headpone output.
Something like this maybe ?

Can you clarify if you want simultaneous output to headphone as well as an additional out for speakers? Or need it only have a single output at a time?

I think it’s discontinued but you could find a secondhand ART headamp for about $70 USD and that has one stereo input with 4 outputs. Probably a little better than the Mooer.

I also think there’s nothing wrong with the Moukey and other lesser brands though, if you don’t need as many outputs.

I’m sure the Mooer is fine too although I’d look for a better price, maybe on Amazon or something.

FWIW, I’ve got some ART stuff and some Moukey stuff and would not consider Moukey “lesser” at all. Both are good utility brands, but if anything the Moukey stuff seems better engineered.

For couch jamming, I’d probably use an insert cable that has 3.5mm TRS on the “insert” side and connect it to a headphone attenuator like the KOSS VC-20. You might need a female-female barrel connector, or you could cut the 3.5mm male ends off of both cables and solder them together, if you’ve got the tools.

A Mackie 402 is what I use when I’m working with gear that lacks headphone outs and I also want to be able to send a signal to monitors or an audio interface or handheld recorder while I jam.

by lesser I just meant less established, I don’t doubt that the quality is at or above some of ART’s product line.

Never had any issues with various decent headphones using an adaptor something like this …

Really ? For some reason I assumed that it would not have enough punch. I admit I didn’t try, though.

I would suggest to choose a pedal if yours that has master level though.
Always good to be able to adjust the volume level of what’s coming into you ears.

Strymon Iridium has headphones out.

Yeah, it was Dave Smith who told me in an email it’s what he did (wrt Evolver desktop enquiry)

Works fine on Zoia and a plethora of pedals/synths/headphones

Finally found one of those cables in a drawer. Works ok with Zoia although it could be louder, but thanks !!

Add a brick that makes it possible to adjust the gain between ins and outs

Throw a Bastl Bestie on there, I use mine with eneloop pro batteries and they seem to last forever. I keep four in the unit and four charged up ready to go in a drawer under the gear to swap out mid session if needed.

I’ve got one of these and it does exactly that. Bonus for both 3.5mm and 1/4” outs.

I don’t use the cab sim, but it’s there.

Oh great !
So you can confirm it handles stereo ?

It handles stereo. Requires TRS in and to correct a mistake in my previous post…

3.5mm out is a dual mono out (sums L/R).

1/4” out is the stereo headphone output.

But yes, it takes stereo in via TRS.

Sounds almost perfect.
The ideal solution for me would be to have a stereo out AND a stereo headphones output.
So, for instance, my rig could remain plugged into a PA, but I could silently practice/refine sounds before a show, or during a lunch break (I don’t eat), while everything remains plugged.
But I can live with it !
