Enabling midi play/stop and record from Roland SPD-SX

Hey folks,
As the title says, I’m looking to use my spd-sx to start and stop playback on the digitakt, and to enable quantized record mode… somehow, though I can’t figure out whether this is possible from reading the manuals. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

The Digitakt’s transport can be MIDI-controlled by activating CLOCK RECEIVE in the SETTINGS > MIDI CONFIG > SYNC menu.

The SPD-SX manual is coy about its MIDI capabilities, but there is a small chance that it can send MIDI transport messages when starting and stopping the metronome click. More likely is that it can only listen to tempo information from other devices.

It’s been a while since I checked the SPDSX manual, but I’m realitively certain that it can only send MIDI note #'s - no clock, no CC’s ( the knobs can send CC’s, but not the pads ).

The OT can be transport controlled by MIDI note #'s, can the DT?

No.

Too bad : ( Thanks for your help all
