Elmyra - a DIY drone synthesizer inspired by the Lyra-8

Amazing sounds! This conjures up some Lynchian imagery in my mind.

Anyone willing to give Elmyra 2 a test run can do so at Superbooth (DIY area, thanks to Exploding Shed):

Mylar Melodies made some very tasteful and interesting tunes, pairing the Elmyra 2 with a DFAM. Who knows, there might even be a Neutral Labs drum machine to go with the Elmyra 2 one day.

Another gem by Jon Gee with Strega, 0-CTRL and Elmyra 2.

It wasn’t done like that on purpose, but Elmyra seems to fit nicely into the Make Noise 3-tier stand.

@substan Love what you came up with there, seems to be a good combination.

Thanks !! The S4 is actually a very suitable candidate to send Elmyra through.

Elmyra 2 will now come with a beautiful solid bamboo case, this replaces the previous plastic case.

Also, Scrooge, a glitch/drum machine companion for Elmyra 2 was just released yesterday.

Nice ! Any possibility to buy the case separately to install on older Elmyra 2 ?

Yes, I’ll be able to offer individual cases in a few weeks. Right now stock is a bit tight due to an overwhelming Scrooge launch and I have to prioritise assembled units going to retailers. Drop me a PM or email in early December.

I am seriously thinking about one. Let me tell you what I am after. I have a Softpop 2 and love the creativity it offers. The randomness and wild sound range as well as the user friendliness… i love it. I dont perform live or record anything more than 8 bars usually. Most of the time i record something and chop, shape and modify it to find a place in my tracks. I feel like I can get similar inspiration from this. Am I wrong?

It’s hard to say, I’m not you. But I’d say that if the sound and workflow in the videos inspires you, then you should be good. They’re pretty representative of the real thing.
