Good morning all,
I have the A4 and the AR with the latest firmware connected in usb with overbridge on Ableton Live 10.
I do not understand why these two Elektrons do not appear in Ableton -> preferences -> midi configuration -> “midi ports”
Do you have an idea ?
Thanks
They should do… try unplugging the USB and reconnecting or different USB ports
Hi, I have the same problem…or bug…or…human error…I don’t know. I opened a ticket with Elektron, but no solution for now…

I go through an elektron hub, I don’t see why it doesn’t work, I will try to plug the hub into another USB socket on my Mac. Have you tried all the USB sockets?
I don’t think hub usb is problem…When I set - digitone, A4, Rytm- to usb midi on system preferences I can see the elektron machines on Midi Ableton preferences… as soon I change to Usb overbridge, the machines disappears in the Ableton midi page…I’m on high sierra… My next try(as Elektron suggested me as a solution) is to désinstallation Overbridge and instal again…but no luck for now…I’ve found other topics with the same problem in Elektronauts, but no one clear solution for it…
Well, I’m on High Sierra too, this is the second installation I’m doing of the overbridge and nothing changes.
Otherwise I saw it in the overbridge manual, I haven’t tried it yet …
In macOS 10.13 High Sierra, the Overbridge software must be explicitly allowed to load in the
Security & Privacy pane in macOS System Preferences.
- Download and install Overbridge
- Restart the computer, and then open System Preferences (from Apple menu at top left
corner of display).
- Click Security & Privacy in the System Preferences window.
- Click Allow on the “Elektron Music Machines MAV” entry (at lower right of General pane)
within 30 minutes of the Overbridge installation.
Yes, I’ve done that the first time I installed Overbridge…anyway, if this wasn’t done, I don’t think you could open Overbridge in Ableton…Have you opened a ticket?
Not yet, how can i do this, it’s ont the elektron website ?
It’s good i saw where it is, in the website elektron, i open a ticket !

Hi Aljander, we agree that since the Elektron is not recognized in Live’s midi prefs, we cannot record the Elektron patterns on a live midi track, which I don’t can’t manage … this story drives me crazy, as far as the A4 is concerned it’s even crazier I can’t even control the midi notes on live with the elektron keyboard.
Hi @Julien23, I don’t really know what you mean exactly…for me the problem is that, as you pointed, I was just allowed to play Digitone track 1 in the ableton plugin track. Yes, I created several midi tracks for each one of the elektrons, but when in any of this tracks, I couldn’t see the plugin himself, nor edit it…so why to have the plugin there?..And not possible to send to DN auto channel cause it doesn’t appears on the midi preferences… I don’t know if you understand me…
I’ve seen lots of screen photos that people is selecting auto channel as midi output in ableton, but in my case there isn’t this possibility…
I have the AR MK2 and the A4 MK2, to take the example of the AR, I manage to put a midi psite on ableton with the vst overbridge. Then I put several ableton tracks with each pads, BD, SD … In these tracks, I manage to do the midi routing: In midi To: you put analog Rytm and below you can put analog Rytm 1, 2, 3 up to 16.
I thus receive the notes that I put on my controller (push) in midi clip.
What I want to ask you is that by creating a midi track on ableton with the channel of a pad you manage to record the sequence (pattern) on the elektron because I cannot.
After the midi track with the vst anyway mutated to retrieve the signal per channel for different sounds.
