Elektron USB DC cables

Elektron works great with power banks chargers. This allows you to enjoy creativity anywhere.
But sometimes finding the right cables is not so easy. And be sure of the quality of Chinese production. In many stores, such cables are rare. Especially with the right characteristics and length.

Maybe the company should create their own cables for these cases? Perhaps even own Elektron Power Banks. Which would be ideally combined with the requirements of hardware.

Portability is one of the most important basic needs today in many aspects. But so little attention is paid to it by manufacturers of hardware devices.

What do you think about it?

Perhaps you missed the Model series Power Handle saga…?

think the cables are unlikely as it tacitly agrees to you using any old power bank of any kind that might create any kind of issue with the hardware and create a massive support headache…

but yeah, their own power banks sounds like an idea… I wonder just how many people consider it a deal breaker and what the margins would be though.

I mean, people that want portability will probably sort their own solution anyway, and whether elektron could or would want to do it as cheap…

I dunno, I feel like it’s a nice idea, but I wonder what the market really is and how much profit there is in it IYKWIM.

That’s why I’m asking)

Fair enough.

Their last attempt didn’t work out well for anyone. I imagine they feel hesitant to get into this space again. Especially with no CEO at the moment.

What would you hope to see that isn’t covered by Anker, Baseus, Ripcord, Birdcord and some others?

The great thing about leaving this to separate power bank and cable companies is that both of those can make more generalised products and easily market to a wider range of people. If Elektron do it, they create a product that only suits a sub-set of their current market, but at the same time could be a good option for other markets. In turn, this changes their advertising strategy, and in a way the very identity of the company.

A better idea for the owners, although not necessarily for the customers, would be for the owners/investors also funded a power bank maker.

Birdcord is great. Reliable, well made. Friendly too.

Myvolt cables seem to be sold out. Are those Birdcord cables specially made or just shipped from China with a Birdcord sticker on it? Wouldn’t these small 12v adapters work just fine? They’re less than 2,-

I use these, work just fine

I ended up buying a couple of these as I wanted an angled plug and male USB-C.

Ok these are shit and do not work. Guess I’ll be buying those Birdcord cables after all.

Edit: Seems like I’m the one that’s shit. I screwed it up by thinking my power banks would be powerful enough. But after checking the specs again I see USB-C only goes to 5V. output.

Edit2: No wait a minute, those specs are fine. It should work but it doesn’t.

Has anyone made a list /spreadsheet /database of each machine and a powerbank / cable combo?

Someone has done this over at the Native Instruments forum for the Maschine plus and it’s useful.

I won’t be doing it, as I don’t have much knowledge about it, but I’d love to be able to get more knowledge by viewing someone’s list! :sunglasses:
