Wasnât it all about the friends we made along the way, though?
Or does that part happen later?
So I got a bit of a wild hair and cracked open the info.plist file in Overbridge ( Overbridge Engine -> Library -> System Extensions -> se.elektron.overbridge.driverkit.driver.dext package show package content) to see if there was anything hiding in it. There is a code named device in there called DiggyKong. This was for the newest version of overbridge that I installed yesterday I checked it against the last version still in my Mac trash and I donât see said code named device. This all could be a read hearing of course but something is hiding in there and acting like a place holder. Full disclosure im a database guy with the day job and while I have some understanding of backend application design Iâm in no way an expert.
Digi-formfactor confirmed! And itâs a wavetable synth.
Also, Diddy Kong is a reference to Donky Kongâs son.
Bonus points for whoever creates the âElektron DiggyKong Speculation Threadâ !
Thatâs your NFT right there.
That would be the One Piece.
Doesnt Mario work for Elektron
DiggyKong -> Digi Korg
Syntakt = Drumlogue
The Syntakt seems like watching porn on the radioâŠ
Now Iâm both the richest AND poorest person in this thread.
I think youâre off here. DiggyKong
Sounds like Digi Gong
Therefore the Syntakt is obviously a 4 track Gong Synth groovebox
I think youâre off too. Itâs Digi Bong.
DiggyKong will mix and manipulate your SYNths and your TAKTs (drum machines) into submission. Itâs a Digi-size performance mixer with Overbridge.
It would sound to me like Elektron are really working on a new Digi form factor instrument to be released sooner than later. The similarity of DiggyKong to DiggyTone (?) makes me wonder if, maybe itâs basically non-FM digitone with different synthesis models (?)
I would personally love something like that. Iâm a big fan of the Tone so a VA or Wavetable version would be right up my ally.
Unfortunately the only thing I could glean from that hint of code that whatever it is, itâs overbridge enabled so that means itâs not a Model series. I will say since this is the first appearance of the new device in the list file that means they are at least testing it in the wild, hopefully it will see the light of day sooner rather then later.
