email them and theyll probably reply quite quickly.
it would probably depend on where you are (shipping costs) , how many things are wrong etc … and shipping it back to you.
i had some problems a while ago and they sent a few buttons for free i think (though i did pay shipping).
Yes they do.
I thi k it’s something like £40 per hour, and then parts on top of that if memory serves. They pay one way shipping, you pay the other.
They’re really helpful, and will advise on how long it may take etc if you drop them a line.
That can’t be much over cost.
That’s as it should be too, i hate it when companies go into the business of servicing what they sell rather than selling.
alright guys thanks very much!
Excluding VAT (UK VAT is 20% so add that on), it’s £32 per half hour of servicing, and they offer UPS both ways for £20 (or you can ship it yourself with any service but TBH that’s a good deal as it’s insured). I got the impression most stuff can be done in half an hour. Very reasonable and great service.
I sent my MD in as it got damaged in transit and two knobs broke off and the total including VAT was £73 (including £3.20 per encoder spare part). I was also able to send my A4 back under warranty as part of the same shipping (it had a couple of niggles - laggy display and loose encoder - that weren’t worth sending it alone for but figured I might as well).
Unfortunately the A4 somehow got damaged a little either during service or transit and has some chipped paint but i left it too long (over a month) to get it out the box and check it to reasonably make any kind of claim! So life lesson there is don’t be lazy and check that it’s actually fixed when you get it back rather than leaving it in the box
This is so true. I know it’s not cheap if the hours clock up, but for things like encoder replacement etc, it’s very reasonable imo.
When I was chatting to support, they said it usually doesn’t take an hour for most things (I guess that means encoders etc)
ok thx big reliev for me,i bought a second hand one and the encoders feel a bit worn alrdy and one of the pads keep flashing after pressing stop play so im a little worried it might need some repair service soon enough so i apreciate the answers a lot seems very affordable and custom friendly ! love the elektron products and cant wait to expand ;D
