Elektron Outbox 8

L6

I confirm.
2 mono Aux for both, and 1 additional stereo “sub mix” that acts as a stereo send for the L6max.

For anyone who’s interested in using the outbox8 with an OP-1f, this might be an interesting read:

Yeah this is a real bummer, it would be highly beneficial to be able to go up to at least +8v

I implemented my 1st draft setup.

Which Gear/Pedals are you going to buy/use with Outbox and your Elektron(s)? : ) - #31 by codedkit

Getting hands on with the Outbox 8 helped me put something in perspective:

  1. For anyone who has a mixer with enough channels, this is a godsend. With smart grouping, this instantly moves the mixing domain to a familiar toolset!

  2. For FX routing - my goal - this requires much more intentional design and integration with projects. I wish the routing was per-pattern. I’m not discouraged but it’ll be a while before I settle on where it belongs in my systems or songwriting. The possibilities are exciting - experimentation ahoy

Scenario 1 seems like the best live use case, and Scenario 2 would be dynamite coupled with a half-normal patchbay in a production studio.

First impression, likely to evolve.

Maybe the track swap feature could come in handy for you.

TIL about track swap, thank you!

Wow, I knew there was the possibility of whole different kits per pattern so naturally imagined you can change the order of the kit if you’d like, but I didn’t know it was that easy!

I love the Outbox 8!
Finally I can use my fabulous Eventide H90 with the Digitone 2 running through a huge reverb and some granular pitching and reverse effects. So many new creative possibilities.

Is there a thread for the inbox? Curious if its more difficult to be made than outbox

No, but this thread exists for all sort of speculations and wishes.

How would an “Inbox” be any different than a small mixer (or mixer that can also act as an audio interface)? Lots of those on the market…

Ah simple. With a mixer like i have, yo u feed every all tracks like a big master one to TV. With inbox i guess you could have stereo pair X to bus Y and u can utilise the sequencer in crazy ways for FX

Nice track. I am also very happy with Ob8. Now even thinking getting h90(was looking for it for a long time). Your video definitely helped.
Checking out loopop video for more details before pulling a trigger.

If the TV simply added audio interface support you could take care of input and output all from one box.

Of course, it’s probably in Elektron’s financial interests if they can sell you two audio interfaces…

obv :expressionless:

I think that the inbox is purely in the realm of Elektronauts speculation at present, I don’t think there’s been anything from Elektron to say it will exist.

I replaced my Meris LVX and Mercury X and bought a black H90 and I could not be happier. It sounds amazing and fairly easy to use and so many possibilities. I was planning to always use it as two separate sends from my mixer but having two effects in series is amazing and kind of intriguing to add a pedal directly to the H90 and route it there is so cool. You will be very happy with it. My first Outbox 8 test was with my DN2 and H90… of course nowhere near as nice as @Soarer nice track
