when you start pushing the filters and Q into distortion territory, the MD is a crazy beast. Add in the EQ and you can really pick out some amazing unclean sounds. Start using LFOs from multiple tracks to move all that stuff on a single track around, it is an amazing piece of gear.

What’s so difficult to source those chips? If it’s only that problem … Behringer would know how to clone that chip!
Nothing is impossible, but B is only cloning and fabbing specific filter and oscillator chips here to sell in huge batches. Not every single component on the BOM, and Elektron probably got rid of whatever tooling they had for assembly when it went EOL.
It’s not imposible but it’d lose a ton of up-front money for the amount of sales it’d generate.
