I bought an analog four mk2 2 weeks ago from woodbrass in France and since yesterday I have had a problem with my screen.
Do you know where I can buy a screen to change it?
Because I’m afraid that the warranty period will be long in August.
I’m an electronics engineer so I could change it.
Elektron like to take a nice long holiday in August.
If you’ve only had it two weeks, I’d send it back to Wood brass for exchange or refund.
You can probably fix it yourself, but in doing so you’re going to void the warranty, and losing a three year warranty when you’ve only had it two weeks seems a bit mad.
fyi, looks like these screens made to rytm mk2 too, but in a rare case the issue went away by itself, either way worth contacting support and try replacing it
I’ve avoided buying any Elektron gear because of this. I was thinking of picking up a DT2, but this screen issue sounds super annoying and is still occurring frequently.
Replacing the screen yourself is not a good idea IMO.
I mean, I’ve done it on my Monomachine, so it’s feasible, but you have to get the right tools and it’s easy to make a mess of it. Relatively advanced repairing, you have to know what you’re doing…
Anyway voiding your warranty and paying for a new screen seems a bad move for a brand new piece of gear, really.
Just a quick follow up with my + week old Rytm MK II = smae issue, Elektron got back to me the day I sent pictures and requested advice on how this will be managed. They sent DHL pickup label, all you need to do is to pack it, call DHL for pickup time and you are done. The turnover was about 4 days. I am in EU so its was really no brainer. …but I did expect a plastic cover or a sticker would be included at least
