Hmm. The âexitsâ page on their investments page âInvestments - Bonnier Capitalâ looks ominous - clearly a firm thatâs only looking to extract value from its portfolio - sell and move on. I predict disaster in about 4 years from now. Well at least Trump didnât start WWIII today so we should all be happy.

Private equity poisons everything it touches. When the sole purpose of a company is to generate capital, everything else suffers. I canât think of a single consumer electronics company that got acquired by PE and came out better for it. PE strips away the soul of an organization because money, at the end of the day, is soulless, even when itâs objectively useful within the system we live in.
tbh, Iâve been looking for an excuse to jump ship for a while. My Elektron stuff has been boxed up for months, as I mostly use my M8 for everything these days. I held out thinking Iâd regret letting it all go, but thatâs no longer the case. Oh well, money in the bank para mi.
Thanks for the memories, Elektron. Yâall had a hell of a run.

Iâm sure this is good news for the investors, but as an American whoâs watched endless acquisition cycles, Iâd be a fool to assume this will be positive for the employees or for us as customers. Itâs usually a slow decline. I imagine itâll take a few years before we see how damaging this acquisition actually is. Hopefully Tonverk gets fully sorted before the products and firmware updates start to slide.

Yeah theyâve been quite open about it, many big names have tried and theyâve not been interested.
This is interesting developments. I wonder how Elektron was doing financially for them to consider this, especially given how things are going around the world right now.
Maybe thatâs it. They see the way the worldâs going short to medium term and want financial muscle to stay in the game through it all
