The only thing about this news that is surprising to me is that Elektron (HW company) went this rout before Ableton (SW company that sells SW dependent HW). At any rate, it was/is inevitable.
IMO, folks shouldnt conflate this Elektron news with what happened to Native Instruments. NI was poorly run for much longer than it wasn’t, long before selling out to predatory PE. As far as I can tell, this isn’t the case at Elektron—which matters. Bonnier is not PE. They are PI—big difference.
However, insanely rich old money people don’t typically buy things just to let the former owners continue to run them how they see fit so any corporate jargon laced fair weather initial press release stating otherwise is just that…press release.

On my side, am I naive to think this won’t change anything :
Elektron will maintain full independence and continue to operate from its headquarters in Gothenburg, as well as its subsidiaries in Los Angeles and Berlin, with its existing team, brand, and commitment to creating instruments and tools for music makers worldwide.

Hmm, not sure at least they are no turbo captitalists, they seem to fond long term growth models, and maybe they are the right investors for this - if they are into tech and media companys - why not.
I dont know if Elektron was in financial troubles - i hope this is not the case - wishing that all Elektron Employees keep their jobs.

Is it time to panic buy used Elektron gear? Should we be racing around the music shops with shopping carts filled with Elektron boxes? I have room in my bunker for at least 30-40 OG Digitakts.
