I’m having a really frustrating issue with my Digitakt 2 where the sound engine completely crashes after I record a sample, name it, and save it. This happens regardless of whether I record internally or from an external source, and it seems to affect samples of any length. The only way to get the sound working again is to do a full system reboot.
This issue first started with my original Digitakt 2 (purchased in March 2024, running OS 1.02). I recently exchanged (because of the bad OLED issue) that unit for a new one (from run 2024 W31, manufactured in August), but the problem is still happening, even after installing OS 1.03.
I’m sure there must be plenty of people recording on firmware 1.02. I’ve had no problems.
There’s been a lot of reports recently, and I previously thought this started with firmware 1.03. I would have said that, with the exception of your evidence, that would account for the scarcity of reports, because only people wanting overbridge would have upgraded.
You must be in the minority, if not unique, in having that problem prior to firmware 1.02.
I should expand on v1.02. I was having an issue where my sound was turning off for the L/R input after recording samples. This didn’t require a complete reboot (like v1.03), but I found that the volume kept getting getting reset to zero for L/R input.
I was distracted at the time, because my OLED screen glitched out, diverting my attention to getting that resolved. So, there were issues relating to recording samples for both 1.02 & 1.03 (with my experience) that associated with whatever this is.
i do have the same bug on 1.03. i’m not sure if it was already there on 1.02.
knowing how this bug happens i was always restarting the digitakt after a usb sample record. so it didn’t annoy me that much
Same…glad I’m not alone. I love their product, but I’m bummed about all the bugs. This is a “Sampler”, so it seems like sample/playback testing would have been pretty high on their agenda… Sticking with their stuff…just want it to work properly sooner
