DT midi control question

Wondering if it’s possible to assign midi controller to get control over active part only? So there are constant knobs on the controller “tune”, “cutoff” etc… and they are not wired to specific track and just control the track which is selected atm.

If not, I believe Elektron should implement this functionality and maybe later release universal controller for all devices.

Octatrack has an “auto” MIDI channel which controls the currently selected track. I wouldn’t be surprised if the DT was the same.

This works on the Digitakt.

In the DT settings, choose a MIDI channel number for the Auto Channel.

On your MIDI controller, set the MIDI transmit channel number to the same channel as the DT’s Auto Channel.

The DT will respond to MIDI data sent via the Auto Channel to whatever track you have selected on the DT.

At the back of the DT Manual there’s a MIDI CC table that tells you which controls on the DT respond to each MIDI CC number.

I use this all the time to map a bunch of different controls on the DT, ST and DN to my Faderfox EC4.

It is simple to set up and it works flawlessly.
