DT DN plus Allen Heath Mixer and Midi keyboard

Hi all

I’ve looked for this I’m previous posts so as not to waste time but no luck. My new live and production set up combines the DT and DN with an Allen & Heath Xone PX5 and Ableton (for clips). I am using the Ivan Tryti workflow to link the DT and DN. I use the PX5 to send clock to everything via MIDI into the DT which goes thru to the DN Midi in. I want to also attach a Keystep to the DN only to play melodic stuff. But the Midi in is now used by the DN. Should I use a midi merger to take the MIDI from the DT and Keystep into the DN? Does this make any sense???

You should be able to send the PX5 clock into the Keystep and from there to the DT and the DN.
I believe you need to configure the Keystep’s midi out port to act as a thru port.
Set the DN’s midi channel to the same channel as the one you’ve set on the Keystep.

Ah that makes good sense. So if I set the Midi channel on the DN to the Keystep it will also prevent the DT from playing at the same time. That’s great thanks so much
