Drumbrute impact and octatrack

I’m trying to sync my octatrack mk2with my grandmother and drumbrute impact and I have the octtrack going midi out to grandmothers midi in playing a sequence and midi thru to drumbrute impact clocking it but it’s not starting it when I hit play is there something obvious I’ve missed?
Hopefully it’s something silly?

Have you set octatrack to transmit clock ON, transmit transport ON?

Is your drum machine set to recieve midi clock and transport?

Also, your midi path should look like this:
OT out to
Grandmother In
Grandmother Out (or thru) to
Drumbrute In

Be sure you used the Drumbrute’s Sync button to choose the MIDI setting (not the CLK setting).

I wish I knew how but after reading what you all suggested I went back and just retried it again and suddenly everything works oh well it’s working so I can’t complain
