Possibly the must have tool for breakcore, broken beat and AFXish stuff? Would love to hear from some user…
Also Richard Devine sponsored it

Hey!
Or from Modalics here (The bassist
)
There’s a fully featured 14 day trial if you want to try it out. I’d love to hear what you think.
Best,

Does it do midi out?
Really great idea to have steps as divisible circles. Look forward to trying it.
Yeah! You can output Beat Scholars midi to any VST and map the drum pads to any note you like.
You can also shift+drag patterns out of the plugin to your desktop or DAW timeline to export a midi file instantly.
Let me know how you like it! and if there’s anything you’re missing / wish we had.

I would love to sequence my modular rig with this in stand alone mode!!! Thanks!
Black Page anyone?
That sounds like fun! if you do and don’t mind making a lil’ video I’d love to see it.
100%. I’m waiting for the one brave enough to make the preset
cool to hear directly from one of the developers! I’ll definetely have a try soon…
Apologies for this inane question…
But, any reason why the slices go from 6 O’clock to 6?
Feels like they should go from 12 to 12.
I’d love an option for this! I’m sure this will be your number one priority for an update now
Anybody still using this? Curious if it is good for making live drums , like breaks but with generated fills and some variation.
Have it on iPad. It’s pretty good at what it does, quite a different way of thinking about rhythm - I tend to get different results from a lot of other tools. I will say that I prefer patterning for most general purpose stuff, for me this one is more about intricate polyrhythms. But both good tools imho.
I’m going to spend some time with. Map it either to a Linndrum or real drum kit samples and see what I can get out of it. I remember their promos had a live bass player and the music was more fusion based, which is why I am thinking it may be good for genres like that.
Yeah exactly, fusion, math rock or polymetric metal type stuff seems to be exactly where this lands. Can do more straightforward rhythms as well, but this seems to be where it excels.
it’s like patterning on steroids, but then again patterning is on steroids too, so it’s like if they put steroids in your steroids and then put your steroids into patterns and then put those patterns into more patterns… they are two very different approaches and i appreciate them both.
Oh, so it does have swing, neat! I was just about to comment that unless this thing can go “between the grid”, it wont be all that useful for me. I’ve personally grown out of most IDM 100% grid retrig based beat thingamajigs
