Drill beats made on Elektron gear

As title says, has anyone made any drill type beats on their elektron boxes?

Would be keen to hear any/see the possibilities!

What sort of Drill? I don’t really record anything but I mess around with some Trap and UK Drill style stuff with the RYTM and Digitakt so also interested in this.

Most interested in seeing UK drill but Would be great to see any

KO and Joy Orbison working on some Drill-esque stuff. Been paying attention to how the sound’s evolving and this is quite exciting imo.

Yeah saw about that, nice beat.
Cool to see established producers making drill and not using nexus piano presets haha

I live and teach on the Southside of Chicago. For a few years, I ran a small music lab in a community center working with youth who were transitioning between incarceration and school or just looking for a place off the streets. Drill was the order of the day (for better or worse) and so I have tried my hand at drill production, but entirely itb.

That being said, I think the Digi boxes are super well suited for this sound. DT for hat rolls and drum duties and DN for weird bellish leads and (808 type) subs.

Great little insight, especially cool coming from a city that’s produced some of the big hitters in Trap/Drill.

Seems like 90% of the producers are working with FL Studio with the same recycled samples which seem to add a lot to the sound. FL piano roll can do mad portamento slides which are used a lot.

I like to use Southside/Young Chop sample packs on the DT alongside analogue stuff from the Rytm for drums, seems to create a nice middle ground.

Haha yeah I agree, FL Studio Gross Beat effect on everything as well.

Really hope to hear more like this in the future, sounds “fresh” to me.

Engineered for BSM and 808 mafia as well as other trap stuff in the early 2010’s. Lot of guys were still using mpc’s with virus and romplers, but 808 was using FL and nexus. Introduced a few to omnisphere 1.0 back then before it really took off as the premier vst for that stuff. Good times.

I use the digitone and rytm for trap stuff all of the time.
