They’re mostly 260-290 euros second hand in France and there’s always some available. New is generally 385 euros. New price direct from Greece was 349 euros when I bought it in 2020, so as the pandemic really kicked in.
Wow! 385 Eur is like $450 USD, which is insane! That’s approaching used Akai MPC One+ territory, which I would absolutely get over a Typhon if I was in the market again.
Is anyone else experiencing freezes since 4.2? i.e. the synth becomes totally unresponsive to both its controls and MIDI and I have to turn it off.
It happens consistently when I boot up my Hapax when the Typhon is already on. Must be caused by some kind of MIDI message but I can’t figure it out.
Can you use a software midi monitor to check what is actually sent by the Hapax ?
Yeah according to MIDI-OX it’s sending PC and/or bank select messages, which doesn’t make sense to me. The Hapax isn’t supposed to be sending PC when loading a blank project where none are configured and I haven’t experienced that behavior (and sending PC manually doesn’t freeze the Typhon anyhow). I’ve also seen a system reset message (0xFF) which seems like a more likely candidate but it only happened once.
idk if it’s possible that the messages are truncated or something and being misinterpreted. I can’t really make sense of this so far.
EDIT: I’ve tried MIDI View instead and it doesn’t show any message being received when booting the Hapax on a blank project. idk if it’s more reliable.
None at all, and I’ve only controlled it by DIN MIDI from a Scíon so far other than standalone.
I’ve also experienced some freezing that seems to come from a faderfox uc4 being connected. Hadn’t tried this combo before so I don’t know if it’s due to the latest fw.
I’ve been patient, I’ve waited 5 years for this:
“Added Triplets and Dotted divisions for the Modulators and Delay FX”
Amazing to see this get an update, thanks Dreadbox!
Hello all,
A new firmware update fixing the 2 bugs from the last firmware update v4.2.0 is now online!
Download through our website under the Support page!
Folks like changelogs, so here’s the details:
Typhon Release Notes Version: 4.2.1 Release Date: July 4, 2026
Bug Fixes
● MIDI Port Stability Fix ○ Fixed an issue where powering on a MIDI controller after the synth was already running could cause the synth to send errors to the MIDI port, resulting in a full unit crash. MIDI devices can now be connected or powered on in any order without affecting stability.
● Screensaver Setting Fix ○ Fixed a bug where the screensaver’s initial value was not being loaded correctly on startup, causing it to use an incorrect default instead of the saved setting.
You are right! My bad
Awesome to still see updates for the Typhon, great job! Would love to see the combined ADSR control of the Artemis on the Typhon, such a useful feature. Maybe in a future update?
And maybe some new Sinevibes effects while we’re at it ![]()
Doesn’t the Typhon do this already?
You can only toggle between them and edit separately, not at the same time. For me it’s the only missing feature, it’s great to have this on the Artemis.
