Overbridge.
I also have template saved in Live with all 15 tracks, each with proq4, roar, DMG compressor.
And entire overbridge Dt2 Group track has Glue compressor, Tape vst, Clipper and Limiter.
That’s a great idea - thanks!
I should add at the end. I also have Roto Control that makes all vsts like a real instruments.
Not sure how it is working when performing, but for home production it is an amazing tool
Does that not introduce latency? Or clicks to OB audio? I cautiously keep my tracks clean while producing and only use couple of send fx and master compressor. Still getting some annoying clicks sometimes on printed audio with Ryzen 7 7700 pc.
I just game my uke away! That has to count!
Isn’t that sadder than selling an electronic instrument?
I gave it to my son’s girlfriend that has interest in learning it! All good!
Now that’s a happy end
Well, it makes it easier not to, let’s just say that…
But yeah it is the most practical synth I’ve ever owned. Maybe not the most inspiring but that’s what makes it stand out from other Elektrons … it doesn’t/rarely get in your way.
Latency for sure, when you hover over OB plugin in ableton on bottom info shows you what latency it has. Also anything dealing with daw it will have certain latency, it’s unavoidable depending on plugins you want to use.
Since i separate the two, recorded audio is then only used in daw.
For clicks, yes, you need to create fades at beginning or end of a sample(ctrl + alt + f creates nice fade between beginning and end of sample that have looping points) .
Some have it some don’t, depending on where the sample is cut.
For that once i record all of them, i either continue to mess around with ideas and not care much until i decide to tidy all up, or immediately do a proper cleanup at the start to remove anything unwanted.
That depends on a day, state of a loop i already created etc.
Certain clicks (on bass or sub on the start of the sample f.e.) can be removed with sidechain to a kick(basically cutting it out) or be masked when using RC 20 with vinyl noise effect.
Considering going ITB - because A) it’s not my day job to make music and B) want to free up funds for the fam.
Is it crazy to list a bulk studio purchase of $20k? Assuming it’d have be local to the West Coast of USA. I’d miss everything dearly but unfortunately the job market is rough for my role.
Without knowing what you’d be listing, it’s probably not the best way to do things but I understand wanting to just get it all done with.
I get it. Done the same myself. Maybe not $20k but around $12-15k at my peak hardware point. I would say sell off things one by one. It’ll take more time and more patience but you’ll probably get more money into your bank account. And you might get down to 1 or 2 pieces that you actually want to keep, at least for a while longer.
It probably also depends on what that $20k is relative to the worth of the lot. I see a lot of those ads and they are often much too high and I suspect the person didn’t really want to sell them; or they are very low for a quick sale when, if you have the time, it’d be better to do as suggested above and sell one by one.
I once made an ad trying to clear everything out in a moment of being fed up. I got one really lowball offer but otherwise it seemed like a tough sell. Maybe I fell into the former group and had it listed too high though.
Depends, you can ask a CL bulk purchaser like https://bucketlistguitars.com/ , who have generally made fair offers for the energy, much better than Guitar Center or similar pawn shops.
I would say that the “only everything” listings for studios and modular setups are a put-off.
Can’t speak for what you have, but people who do that generally want others to buy overpriced, under-interesting stuff and it’s rarely ever a deal from past experience. It’s often people who didn’t make all the same decisions I would and never bothered to flip the mistakes along the way.
What are people’s general ways of deciding what gear to sell?
I sell the things I don’t want anymore
Have I used it in the last 6 months to 1 year?
Do I feel like I want to spend time “re-learning” it if I’ve been away from it?
Does it fit my current style of production or workflow?
Can I get enough for it to outweigh the hassle of packing and shipping it?
I want to offload half of my gear. The challenge is where and how to do so at getting best price and not getting ripped off.
i sell the things that have value when i run out of money
