Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
Why is my key pressing on its own?

*edit: see the following posts about a potential bug, if that sounds more like your issue don’t bother with physically opening the box unless you are experiencing a tactile blockage of the buttons or encoders.
the circuit board with the buttons which is bolted to your front plate is out of alignment, you can see that there’s more light below than above, it may need to be opened up, loosened, repositioned, and then tightened. Then closed back up. If you’re comfortable opening a box with a hex key it’s pretty easy.
basically, the top right corner of the encoder button is probably getting stuck against the hole that it comes through.
There’s other walk through videos on youtube about how to fix the sticky button, this is just the first one I found.
to check the encoder for sample selection you can pull straight up on the encoder knob, and it will come off. that might make it easier to see the misalignment. just make sure the flat edge on the bottom lines up with the shaft when you reinstall it.
If it’s not an issue of clearance, there’s a slim possibility your encoder broke.
I thought it was just a common problem with the DT, it happens fairly often with sample select, lfo destination and microtiming. I put it down to encoder sensitivity, if you try to microtime a step when this is happening you may notice the position moving back and forth on its own.
I’ve had stuck buttons, never experienced the encoder issue but I see what digimatt is talking about, looks like it’s popped up in the bug reports, this is definitely also a possibility if there is no indication of physical contact with the faceplate.
if it sounds like that description, this may even be more likely I would guess.
A few people have mentioned this, someone theorised that it’s the capacitive touch being overly sensitive which sounds likely. Most times I see it, I’ve already been using the D encoder.
If the OP is actually seeing the page switch from another to SRC, then that is probably a different issue, but if it’s happening just on the SRC page then it’s likely the same.
Yeah, this is exactly what happened to me

Opening the box is not going to be easy and careful, but we’ll have to try this
Thanks…
This is bad news. I don’t know if it can be fixed on an individual basis if it’s a bug type of problem, maybe someone has a piece of advice on how to avoid? Is the Digitakt in the 3 years warranty still, or is it older than a 2020 build date?
This is easier than you think, but it may be of no use when the problem has to do with the encoder sensitivity only. I’ve never had that problem with the bug, only with the sticking buttons because of misalignment. Your faceplate is definitely misaligned, I can see it from the pictures, but there is a certain amount of room which is allowable for the misalignment before it becomes a physical impairment.
Thanks for the advice
But maybe the button looks like that because of the angle of the picture
If it happens to me I do a pattern copy to keep where I am at, give the offending encoder a turn and paste it to reinstate the changed parameter.
I fixed it because I pulled the D knob without opening the box! Thank you
So it’s all better? Excellent, nice work. Thanks for the follow up.
