I’m pretty sure these colors weren’t there before. some steps on the sequencer show different colors, the tree dots and the gear wheel is blue, midi and pattern is green, record and arrow down is magenta. I’m really confused as to why this suddenly happened am I in some mode I don’t know about?
Help is much apreciated.
cheers
When colours don’t look quite right on these devices it can be down to the control of the RGB leds beneath teh switches
These can be tested for issues within teh test mode
You hold the FUNC button down whilst powering on
Select Test Mode
Then using Trigs 3,4,5 you can test the component colours of all LEDS
so pressing 3 will test out all Red and so on - if you hold 3,4,5 together you should get white
anyway - that’s what you will need to try out
before you get to teh test mode screen - take note of any reported errors when you boot into test mode
Don’t do this until you read the instructions on test mode for yourself in the PDF manual - it’s your responsibility to get this right, it’s safe … but do not press any buttons at teh wrong moment as that may wipe your content
It’s all very easy, but if you are unsure if you are in the diagnostics part of test mode, just twiddle an encoder, you should see a scrolling representation of your input … this is where you would try 3,4,5 - but you must enter Test Mode using whichever Trig key is advised on screen, don’t just hit 3 at teh first opportunity is the point i am making a meal of
wow thank you!
When I press the trig 3 4 5 in the test mode I never get exclusively one color. It’s always the same triggers that don’t show the right color.
My question, is this a software bug or do they need replacing? It’s not like it bothers that much though it’s just a bit distracting…
also I get zero erors when going into test mode
edit: 345 makes all the keys white!
TBH i can’t say i follow why they are mis-coloured here - it suggests that the issue may be control related - or maybe i am recalling how the older devices responded, whereby you might see a dead led for one of the three tests (i.e. 3 4 5)
A simpler test to diagnose what may be an issue - if LED related would be to try to simulate white with 3 4 5 together
When you press 3 or 4 or 5 it should be absolutely clearly only red or only green or only blue - there should not be stray colours
There are loads of topics on this kind of issue, perhaps if you are lucky you might browse those and find out the outcome somebody had for a similar issue … i.e. it could be as simple as re-seating a ribbon cable, at one end or a return to base at the other or even a factory reset (following a backup of all projects) might sort this one out
Support are on summer hols reduced staffing levels, so your best bet in teh short term may be to do some research here, to get a feel for what to do
okay i was so slow typing you got there - this implies some kind of control wonkiness then, rather than LED integrity
possibly worse, possibly better
you may find similar experiences within the forum, or your topic may get the right reader soon … it’s a little fiddly, but doable to re-seat the cables, i would do this as a last resort as there are other implications … just trying to give a few options to avert a panic
alright thank yee,
I think I’m going to do a factory reset and if that doesn’t work some research abt the topic
Thanks for the troubleshoot, now I know what to look for
I’ll keep this thread up to date
okay so I didn’t really tried to fix it yesterday, I just started playing elden ring because it didn’t seem that big of a problem. I think it even looked cool, unique led colors yk?
But this morning I start up the machine and then boom! Digitone is looking completely normal, I guess it felt a little gay yesterday and wanted to express that…
