Certainly, if I was working for them and an owner of a 20 year old flagship contacted me, I would go out of my way to help them out, just out of satisfaction that this gem would work for years to come.
What colors are your leds? Red or blue?
I have a wonderful Pocketdial with blue leds here and I hope to die before it, no backup except by mini suitch, so no battery …

Mine has the Red leds. Sadly they dont have the time to check-up all these components for me but they told me, that these components are all just basic standard components, so I guess I’ll be good…

But they ended up correcting me with the ferrite choke, as the first one was wrong

By now, I have all 24 faders cleaned up and running smoothly! Turned out, that a few of them already had a replacement. Took quite a while and was a nasty job, still better than spending 480€ on 24 replacements…
Further all nasty components have been desoldered of the PCB, which I then cleaned with some isopropanol.
Got all the bits and pieces shipped and only have to wait till a skilled friend of mine can scrape of the remaining solder from IC7…
Hopefully it’ll be fine afterwards ^^

Components have been soldered and the unit is working fine! Now I’m off to program the regelwerk in order to control the whole workbench ^^

Sadly not… but that was actually the first plan… I have 2 Yamahas HS80m in the back and was, at first, aiming for the HS5 which most propably would have worked with mounting on the tree branch but with the downside of it being super close to the wall
Got a pair of adams a3x instead which need their brand specific wall mounts. Hence, sadly, no branchmounting but super nice sound while hanging close to the wall.

The most refreshing of this setup is that the Regelwerks layout fits perfectly to the Machinedrum. I have 16 presets in which the whole machine parameters can be edited via faders. This in conjunction with the megacommand is just pure bliss

So a small recap after half a year of using the regelwerk in conjunction with MD/MNM.
pro:
-Mostly and nicely used for volume and thus sceneric purposes
-24 Faders fit perfect for MD and MNM given the 22 available tracks
-remaining 2 Faders set to autochannel effect cntrl for MNM
-great for allowing for two midi-circles instead of a huge daisy chain
contra:
-Footprint!!! This unit atm takes the biggest footprint, set acide the e-keys and mixer, which are close to but not on the table
-Programming is a pita
-MD does not really encourage the use of the integrated seq of the Regelwerk
-im not fluent with midi strings and sysex
All in all this is a tight one. I am a bit drawn to selling/trading this unit given that a smaller controller with a quick pattern change option could actually offer a quite similar set of functions - given the array of functions I am using now.
This also is the main reason I am reluctant to let it go. The 2x8 CV and Gate’s and seq possibilites seem quite promising, but so far I stayed away from modular. If i decide for it, I could image that I’d miss it. Further I am far from certain to have a price mind for a regelwerk ^^
+++ rumours have it that some who sold theirs seem to regret it

Curious if you have any pics of the LCD area and some pics of the process of getting the board out.
Nope, display remained OG, I also did not take the board out… Sorry 
But if I remember correctly the board should be easy to remove and get into place compared to the fader boards
Hey I just bought one of these and now found out its the old version that doesn’t use alps faders. I’m a bit bummed out about that but i’m investigating how to make it fully functional since it needs 5 faders replacing. Firstly does anyone know if it accepts new alps faders and if not does anyone know where I get the replacement radiohm faders from? Also its the prongs on the fader that attach to the cap which have broken on 5 of the faders, it looks like the previous owner has attempted to use a glue as a temporary fix for the prongs. Is this recommended as a solution and if so what kind of glue would work best for that? I’m a bit gutted about this to be honest but I feel like I should at least get it functioning as best as possible and then decide if I want to keep it because besides these set backs the unit feels great. Sorry for all the questions. Hope you guys can help. Thanks!
Hey there, first of all congrats for getting this rad but spaceious device.
The old Radiohm faders cannot be replaced with the Alps faders due to the way they are mounted. In theory you’d need a new PCB as well as a fitting UI Faceplate to have the Alps installed.
Getting the Radiohm Faders is a pain. If i remember correctly there is a french dealer having a ‘left-over’ stock for a decent price. However these are not linear but exponential. In theory - this is highly dependent on your personal use case - this could also be advantageous. Your best bet is to contact doepfer directly, they still sell left-over radiohm’s but its 20€ per fader.

Thats cool. I’m building some work flow prototypes with the 1st gen just to check it works in the way I want then i’ve got my eye out for a 2nd gen.
Hey i’ve got a buyer interested in my regelwerk rev 1 and i’ve just realised that i don’t think the seqencer patterns are storing to memory. Tried a factory reset and it still does the same thing. The only options I can see for storing things are store preset and store snap shot. Its my understanding they should be stored in a preset. Every time I choose store preset and hit ok it pauses for a minute and starts blinking again. But when I turn the unit off and on again preset slot 1 which loads by default is empty. I’m worried this might mean I have to replace the memory. If that was the case what memory would I need to buy? or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
