Guilty as charged.
For battle #1 to #3 I used Ozone Elements 11, which is kind of lame, but there are so many challenges for me in these battles, that I could not learn to master somehow decent. When using a template in Ozone Elements e.g. electronic music, the auto mastering function brickwalls everything to almost 0 db.
This time I downgraded to Ozone Elements 9 which has lufs learn target. I set it to 9 lufs and doublechecked with a free lufs meter. ![]()
My track is a sure-fire-summer-sizzler-BBQ-banger!
(I’ll be lucky to get a single vote, but it is the taking part that counts!)
I’m not taking part in this battle due to building work in the house and no studio. But I like mixing and mastering, even though I’m not particularly good at it. If anyone is struggling with getting tracks to the appropriate level I’d happily do a little bit of processing for them (it would be overselling to call it mastering!!)
Reminder to get your songs in, folks!
I’ll do next one i suppose, looking forward hearing what other made.
Despite trying, I had not managed to do anything with the loop I made. I feel blocked. I will share it once tracks are in.
Might be an idea for a ‘Battle the Loop’ thingie.
I know there have been ‘work with other people’s stuff’ missions before.
Maybe a mission that goes on longer were we can place loops that you are stuck with (in?) and if someone wants to try they can get the multitracks.
Or even multiple people can give it a go.
Maybe after that the first poster can cooperate.
Just an idea (‘The easy part’).
One thing to consider is: Maybe some loops won’t fit others, so then it might not work.
For what it’s worth, that’s a lovely idea to which I’d gladly donate my stuff.
Missed this deadline also (just found out today). Maybe next time.
If you can get something to me by tonight, you’re in!
Sorry for the delay here, folks! I was away this weekend and it’s taking me longer than I expected to sequence the tracks… usually it’s really clear which order they should go in, but this time around for some reason it’s hard to put them in the “right” order. But I’ll post it tonight I swear!
In the meantime, let’s announce the Grand Prizize!!
The top vote-getter of the Summer Battle will win…
Pet Soundalikes by Not Beach Boys
25 Teenage Sym-phonies to Brian Wilson
compiled in 2012 by the eminent and venerable Gaylord Fields!
