Tried my best to find answers online but getting nowhere. I am trying to do two things:
Number 1 - Using Torso S4 as end of chain processor sequenced via DN2 MIDI track with triggerless trigs to send CC values to S4, all CC values have been matched accordingly and when manually turning encoders it changes parameters on S4.
Number 2 - Using MIDI track on DN2 to send notes and also using triggerless trigs to send CC data to S4 individual track.
When inputting on DN2 sequencer the notes work however the triggerless trigs are not triggering all the time as if probability isn’t on 100% yet it is, when the triggers do work they do carry out the CC I assigned them to do on the P-Locks which confirms to me everything is set up correctly. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated. The Torso S4 visually shows parameters being changed even when being controlled externally which gives evidence it’s not happening every trig. I have watched Oora’s video on YouTube which confirms this is possible.
Even though I don’t know the solution to the problem, but if you have access to a laptop, I would try to connect the DNII to it and with a MIDI monitoring program (I believe Ableton has one built in) I would take a look at the notes coming out from the DNII. If everything is fine, I suspect the S4 is acting up.
Found out the issue is a current bug with the Torso S4 which causes it to struggle receiving multiple CC messages, apparently to be fixed on their next update.
I’m using current firmware on the S4 from the DT2 and it still isn’t receiving even individual CC messages 100% of the time–from the discord people are seeing this when also sending midi clock/sync.
It’s possible that this is related. This is a behavior of elektron products.
You might be able to test by alternating the cc value which is sent back and forth between two different values on your locked trigs rather than trying to send the same value each time, or you could try the workaround mentioned above.
Unlikely but not impossible to imagine this could have something to do with it but if you’re already sending multiple different cc values then it’s probably not related.
I’ve sold all my hardware now mate, upgraded my laptop and using push 3 - was stuck in a loop using hardware, to time consuming arranging. I’ve seen there’s been many updates since so I’d of liked to think it would have been sorted by now!
