i ordered direct from elektron and i was expecting a digitone 2 and lid today. But the lid only arrived with no digitone. Is it normal for Elektron to do split shipments? I have sent them an email already but i was wondering if this is standard or not.

Hi,
I think that most companies with physical stock kept at multiple locations will ship based upon availability and product in hand. It’s very possible your items shipped separately, however if you were given a tracking number and it’s only attached to this one shipment of the lid and the tracking site shows as delivered, then I would consider making contact if the digitone 2 does not arrive by the weekend.
If you didn’t see any tracking, perhaps check the shipping confirmation email and see if it says you have to log into your account to view details. I know that sometimes there is an invoice in the user account when you make a purchase or get a warranty item sent.

In Elektron support its “completed” and i only got one tracking number that i was made privvy to via email today. But there is no info on the website i can find where it could be. So i am just very confused. Thanks!
If you checked the “orders” tab in your user account and there is no information there, then that’s probably the only place that it would be.
If you were billed for both items and did receive an order confirmation which shows a receipt for 2 items and then one shipping notice and only received the lid, I’d be confused as well.
You could preemptively contact support, but I’m doubtful that they’ll get back to you today. In the event the second item does not arrive in another sequential shipment, and your package did not look tampered with when it arrived, I would certainly think that it’s reasonable for you to ask them directly.
While I don’t doubt that they may ship the items separately, I’d be hard pressed to believe there would be no notification. No doubt, I’d pursue it further as well rather than wait too long.
It could also be cos the lid is below the threshold for import tax - I think the limit is around 500kr or something. So the DN gets held up until you pay the import fees, but the lid just sails through?
As i am new to norway i am a bit stumped by how it all works. Certainly a possibility. But i have not been asked to pay any import fee as of yet for it.
It sounds reasonable to imagine, but would mean that there had to be two separate packages with the same tracking number, or yet still another package with another tracking number that was not provided. Either way it’s a bit out of the expected protocol for making an online purchase.
Import tax would make sense though, if it’s not already part of the purchase price and paid by the seller.

It’s the shipping company that sends you an invoice - you should get a txt on your phone at some point, then you click through and pay it online.

For sure i have already paid import fees on packages already here. But for example i bought some shoes recently and i paid for them after i had recieved. Thats the only VAT i have been asked to pay so far and i got an email to do so. The tax calculator is great. thank you!

Even when assigned one tracking number a shipment can be split across multiple - happened to me the other week. Is there anywhere on the shipping page / form that says something like 1 of 2 (or 2 of 2)?
I have never had one code for multiple packages arriving at seperate times in my life So thats why i am surprised. there is no one of two.

I used to live in Norway and haven’t had a dual shipment with a single number either.

I’ve never gotten one code for two packages either. Might be a new thing, I haven’t ordered anything in maybe two years so idk 
Still 0 response from customer support after a full day ugh.
Another weird update. phoned up UPS as elektron have not replied at all. Only the lid was sent. w o t.
Just a question - you are aware that you are going to pay the vat, also some customs fee for that machine to enter Norway, right?

It will end up probably more expensive compared to buying it from dlxmusic norway for example. Reason is that they get bulk price from elektron and are able to sell slightly cheaper
