I own both and prefer the A4 over the DN. I find it much more difficult to get nice sounds out of the A4 in comparison to the DN but the A4 in its entirety is much more versatile.
Nowadays I use the A4 mainly as a standalone groovebox, which is quite fun.

The A4 is a fantastic drum machine with mono tracks.
The limitations of 4 tracks inspire really unique patterns when using it solo.
You can eternal sequence something else, and jack into the A4 for processing.
The best part is meticulously setting up performance modes.
