Digitone Overbridge vs multi-in audio

When the Digitone’s USB mode is set to Overbridge, I can still use it as an audio interface on my Mac.

In Ableton, I can access 12 inputs (the DN’s 4 tracks, plus external input, all stereo) via this audio interface.

I can also access all those tracks via Overbridge.

My question is, what are the practical differences? Is one way better than the other?

Note: I like that I can hook up monitors to the DN and send Ableton’s master output to the speakers this way.
