Hello, I’m reaching out because I just purchased the new digitone2 and I need help to replicate a pluck/stab sound that I need to use for a live performance soon. It’s a kind deadmau5 pluck sound, the one from his Track: Jaded (Original Mix). The stab synth sound I mean . Could someone help me ?

What you see in Serum can be easily followed in Wavetone:
- Synth: OSC1 & OSC2 set as supersaws, tuned down 2 octaves with some noise.
- FX: Little bit of Overdrive pre-filter & reverb.
- Filter: Legacy LP filter gives you a 4-pole low-pass filter with a 24 dB/octave slope.
- Modulation: Your standard LFO on filter FREQ destination and other LFOs on the envelope shape.
Alternatively, you can use Swarmer that is basically designed around SuperSaw but offers other shapes.
interesting, but I still think I’m missing something. Is it possible to share a preset here ?
I can if this can be a base for you :
Nice
Can you eventually try to make a base preset just like that i understand how to start with it ?
Wow! that is a really impressive patch! I love it. I just got a Digitone 2 and I wanna try to create classic 1990-2000s trance sounds. Would you mind sharing some directions or the sysex file to use this as a template/playground?
Thanks in Advance
Welcome @garyd.
Here is the patch.

I used Swarmer iirc.
I followed some tips from the tutorial posted by @dzyndzel
Thanks so much, I appreciate it a lot. This will help me to develop mu own sound.
Pretty incredible how some guys manage to bring a specific kind of sound to life like that. I’m just starting with dabbling with Elektrons, not that much time usually, and most of the times I end up with some pretty same’ish sounds, so I’m not yet proficient in translating sounds in my mind to actual patches. But it’s good to see what others can do with these machines, keeps up the ‘if they can, so can I’ motivation
The mots important is understanding what is the way to sculpt the sound , it’s always the same process in every analog and digital synth.
But digitone2 is another level.
I will release a digitone 2 custom patches soon, special for Edm, Melodic techno , Progressive House. I think is a good start to understanding how to sound design for a specific music genre.
Note sure if it’s a good idea to highjack this thread but the title seems generic enough ![]()
I got a DN2 since a week and I’m in general quite new to synthesis and specifically FM. I’m reading “How to Make a Noise: Frequency Modulation Synthesis” by Simon Cann and watched a lot of videos and now I’m trying to get some practice by recreating sounds. Thanks to the FM Drum machine I feel quite comfortable with making basic drum sounds and I can get some pads with Wavetone.
But there is for example a beautiful simple sound in this Ben Clock track. It appears at 11 seconds for the first time and then repeats every couple of bars. I guess it’s the main lead motive playing 2 notes. I really struggle with how to approach this. Maybe some of the wizards here have an idea?
The noisy hi passed sound with a filter sweep release ?
The soft padish bell like (?) sound. I guess I still have a hard time describing sounds. The dominant, melodic notes here:
