Hi everyone!
I noticed that there’s a demo on the official Digitone II called “Citric Acid” which has a quite nice 303-style sound design, and I thought that it would be a preset in the machine but apparently it’s not.
Does anyone have an idea on how to get there?
And yes - I know you can make all this other kind of crazy sounds with the DN2 - and I do, all the time, most of the times.
But sometimes it’s nice to have a classic acid bassline or melody as well
Hey there. Dumb question but , i did choose the „Receive“ menu but cannot for the love of God find the Preset on my DT2 even though Transfer says Transfer went good
I wouldt know how to use Overbridge to look for something as i see no options there. I think i am missing something
"+ drive“. Dont shoot me, but i cant find any +Drive. Only on my Digitakt
Hope i did not mess it up by erasing the factory presets form Bank A. Dont ask why. It happened.
That said, i cant locate +Drive and dont feel very smart at present
Btw when i DL the sysex it is not called Citric Acid but „e943a229d940e220efc5dfce891489705227fad7.syx“ but am not very familiar with sysex
Update: Had forgoten to Install the DN2 plugins. Anyhow. Did it. Still no sign of the send sysex that i can see
In overbridge , load the standalone app and click on sound browser … no need for ableton or anything … i think
I’m assuming it’s like digitone1 … I don’t have 2, so I didn’t install the app
It’s also in the manual , just search +drive
The manual is on electron.se in the digitone2 support section
If you type in ‘transfer sysex to a digitone 2’ into chrome browser / google itll do a pretty good job at helping you out …
IMO the sound itself is super simple, the thing that makes it acid is the sequencing. Trig length default to 32nd note, set to mono legato, portamento set to legato only. For slides and tied notes just set the length of that trig to overlap the next one. Traditionally just a single saw or square osc, but honestly once you get the character of the sequencer, you have a lot of liberty with the actual sound itself, doesn’t need to stick to those traditional limitations while still being acid.
Hey there.
I have tried this a few moons back cause all videos i was watching about „acid“ where lacking accents and slides and were a bit too static for my taste. As if they where creating the Base sound for it and then …“The end“ before any sequencing and Slide/Ac/Fltr etc trickery fun
You are absolutely right. Even on the og 303 you had to program these things
as they do not happen out of the blue and if you hear an original 303 just play notes it sounds pretty boring by itself tbh.
Of course the 303 and good clones really create a unique signature of interaction between filter, slide, accent and decay when these are engaged that is very very hard to replicate.
I briefly had an Acidlab Bassline 3 but wanted something smaller and got the Bassbot 303 Mk2. Fantastic sound if you want the „real“ thing btw.
However i am trying to manage a "create more or less everything in one box“ self challenge so i find trying to replicate sounds with the DN2 super fun and challenging. The most difficult i find is to create a Pad i honestly like. I always end up with a bit Dx7 metalic style pads while on the machine there are some softer ones. So much to learn
That said, in this case i was just curious to hear the sound.
However i cannot find neither a Demo called „Cirtric Acid“ nor do i see a Preset called that on the DN2. I even did a factory reset yesternight
