You have that in the DN keys.
Probably been requested a bunch but I just discovered that the DN does not record external Mod Wheel movementsâŠ
Nope, i dont have a DN Keys.
Regular DN needs that.
Agreed, it should have this too. You can still workaround this by setting the AMP enveloppe release to INF, and place a trig with a 1rst condition, but itâs not something you can play with. Only useful if you want to craft a sound without having to push any trig button.
That would be great yes (parameter locking I assume)
I really wish the midi tracks could pass mod wheel data to external synths.
All the Digi boxes have been treated with updates and fitted with additional Machines. Except the DN. (Booooo!!! sad face here, and endless supply of Hollywood tears rolling down the cheek) I would really love the Digitone to get the SID Machine !!! (since its FM, and all Elektron machines and âSwedish Sequencingâ are basically based around the SiDstation in essence (c64 and tracker software/datalines with parameter changes/tables)
pls Elektron Wizards grant us cheeky dirty FM Lovers this here silly request (folded hands, kissing the ground with scraped knees + puppy dog eyes and arms reaching towards the heavens)
I promise I wonât do any more silly feature update requests for at least 6 months. No more nightmares and waking up sweaty, no more dismembered body parts on your doorstepsâŠ
SiDmachine (emu) for the DigiTone Pls !!!
Cheers, congrats on the 25th anniversary and all the best!
Random forever hopeless nostalgic guy without a life skÄl
well⊠that escalated quicklyâŠ
(I call it leverage )
ELEKTRONAUTS can be a tough crowd at timesâŠ
Yeah! What he saidâŠ
Not quite the same, but you can press Func while selecting the sound to keep the sound browser open. Stops you from having to keep dbl- pressing the track to change sounds.
Well, i came home the other day and found my DigiTone in a pool of tears. Turns out he had been crying all day when i was away? So i asked him what was wrong, trying to comfort. He sniffed and told me he was feeling like a little black sheep of the family for getting no additional âMachines Treatmentâ like his brother and sister.
I thought it wouldâve been abandonement issues for leaving him alone locked up in the cold dark basement with no food and only a little blanket, the case being?
I tried to explain that a little âchildhood traumaâ from emotional neglect goes a long way and further down the road will only make him stronger. And that maybe those scientists at Elektron have been saving the best for last as a grande finale, and are already busy like little Xmas elves cooking up some freshly reverse engineered splendour from itâs legacy flagships to fit into the new OS update? Who knows, maybe theyâll even beat santa to the punch, with some nifty new additions, to leave him hanging by the chimney to sober up from all the eggnog heâd been drinking before crashing into that UAP. Now wouldnât that be a nice Xmas present?! My DigiTone looked up to me, as only he can, watching him slowly regain his sense of pride. It was as if for a moment i could almost see the âloader barâ flashing in his big glaring sparkling Oled eyes, followed by an âupdate completeâ New superpowers! He said, before i tucked him in and locked the dungeon doors with a big clang, and activated the boobytraps, security cams and fed my Labian Root Monster a few pesky neighbors and a leftover chicken paw.
DigiTone + (Like the AH+)
could also be a nice update?
Like: being able to use the split L R input audio as 2 mono sources to interact with the audio (subtractive, additive) behaviour in the signal flow, or maybe even as an uniterrupted carrier signal, adding FM fx to mangle it up inside its little tummy and spit it out fresh in new and surprisingly interesting ways (for SoundDesign or live flavoring?) - And ofcourse with a dedicated FX stepsequence lane to make use of Trigs and trigger the FX parameters/feed mute?
Since DN also has 4 tracks for midi, another thing that more recently came to mind:
Turbo Midi
Another update that could be nice = adding the âTurbo Midiâ to the DN, if thatâs even possible (hardware restriction might apply?)
Meaning: midi passing through over USB 4x speed? and not being stripped down. (like the TM-1 which was being sold long ago in a parallel universe, to transfer stuff and communicate for instance between a PC/MAC playing back nice Asid tunes - acting as the external routine player/midi translator of old and more recent c64 SiD splendour!)
(Still, space and slots left for some additional âindividualâ FX per channel like the old Mono used to have - opposed to the Master/Bus FX-)
DN+
cheers
Turbo MIDI appears in the settings of the DN. Not sure how to turn it on or how to check if itâs automatically turned on though. Still restricted to a handshake with another Elektron device.
Yes unrestricted 3rd party appliance would be nice to have, without shaving off midi info (to make it fast) The TM-1 is very hard to find for a reasonable price (and questionable if it would work correctly since itâs considered âobsolete hardwareâ?
I was looking for one after seeing some of Tubesockors vids and personal work, doing custom firmware hacking for the TherapSiD to improve functionality and range of operation. (basicly for Asid playback from MAC/PC over USB +, where normal midi interfaces fail due to the amount of messages needed, esp with faster SiDtunes, and nowadays 2SiD and Up (3SiD + FM even!)
Very nice stuff
Cheers
I would like the arpeggiator to have a mode where it only plays the next note from the arp pattern per trig. âONEâ mode or maybe allow speed to be â0â? This way I can let the sequencer pattern define the rhythmic pattern and the arp define the notes. Would mix really well with euclidean mode if that appears on Digitone
As other digis, would be nice to get âmachinesâ for Digitone. Iâd like to see:
1- Drum machine: simplified machine oriented to model drum sounds. Algo selection could select différents drum algos: BD, SD, HH, SY (monophonic model based on syntakt fm)
2- SiD Machine: an emulation (simple or not) from SidStation.
3- Poly Machine: the default digitone.
P lock arpeggiator. The lock trigs donât work on arpeggiated notes. This is essential (and requested since launch)
Requesting that tempo can be set via sysex message (someone please let me know if there is already a way to do this). I record tracks into my computer at a variety of tempos. I have automated the starting and stopping of the Digitone with sysex messages from my computer, but not the tempo (I have to adjust that by hand).
I know that clock messages can be sent to the Digitone, but my experiments with that caused the Digitone to be close, but not exact with the desired tempo. I am syncing audio, from the Digitone, with pre-made videos of scrolling music, and the tempo has to be exact.
Sid machine and euclidean rythms pleeeeeeeease
You can already make these drum sounds with existing algorithms. Elektron picked them very thoughtfully.
To me, it sounds like you would need presets that have MACROS. Because fundamentally it uses the same method, thereâs no hidden âspiceâ in M:Câs FM approach. Digitoneâs FM is very flexible and universal. Essentially it would be simplified engine controls.
Actually MACRO assignment would be quite cool. Ableton style maybe?
Great and very touching story
I hope your Digitone gets the Christmas he deserves!
Saving P-Locked sound to sound pool is my number one feature request.
