Digitone feature requests!

hell yeah those are some awesome ideas

i was literally just thinking about how much more mileage i could get out of the arp with note probability

Enable arp on the midi tracks please!

I agree with this. I haven’t been using it that long but I’m already bumping up against both of these limits.

It’s kind of wild coming from the Volca FM which had 32 algorithms. Obviously the DN is far more powerful in many other ways but it seems like that should be relatively easy to add.

I’m not really fussed about algorithms or machines, I’d rather be able to switch the carrier and modulator wave shapes. If we could flick between sine, triangle, saw, and square for A, B1, B2 and C independently that would be amazing. There’s a nice row of free encoder slots on page 2 of syn1 that would accommodate this.

Elektron please do NOT add SRR/BRR pre or post filter or any cool effects, new engines, slides or arp upgrades. Pls do not force me to get a DN.

Noticed while using Overbridge more lately that the DT has an option under ROUTING for PRE/POST FADER and the DN doesn’t. That would be an easy feature request I would imagine

It’s great on the A4, wish it was implemented on all the digi units

That would be great to add a bitcrusher and aliazing effect pre/post filter and even per operator

not sure if it was mentioned before but I would love to have a mode for quick switching between the fx menus without holding FUNC, something like the mute mode and being able to mute tracks with single button - secondary menu mode when clicking the menu switches between the secondary menus.

for example if you use DN as fx box for external instrument you’d be able to easily switch between the fx screens

it just occured to me… wouldnt it be cool to have 2 separate filters for X and Y?
imagine all the high pitch details you could add to your lush low pass pads :aw:
and how magical the MIX transition between those could be.

My only request is an update like the one Digitakt had recently

These are great suggestions. Particularly like not having evenly spaced notes

So, is there any beta tester with a  hope for a Firmware update? A drum mode would really be The definitive one but I’m not banking on it at all

some items, surely already mentioned somewhere:

  • MIDI overdub per track, so that notes get added to trigs to form a chord
  • Pitchbend and Modwheel recording in the sequencer

i use my elektron synths primarily with a launchpad, recording in sequences by hitting unquantized record with the metronome on (1 bar pre-roll) and then incrementally, manually bringing up the quantize value until its tight enough, but still natural.

what i would like is something similar to ā€œlistenā€ or ā€œtime machineā€ feature in like the toraiz squid or i think the ableton push where its constantly recording the last few seconds or minutes of audio in case you accidentally play something that you cant replicate.

but even more simple (i think) is a constant ā€œoverdubā€. so an alternate mode, where instead of appending/overlaying new notes to an existing sequence during record, you can choose an alternate rec mode where it constantly overwrites the sequence until you get a take you like. then you can hit stop and save it

i think that would make creative sketches and happy accidents a lot more fun and useful. at least for my workflow. not sure how many people would agree but id love to not have to stop everything or erase every part and start over each time, although a quick func+clear during playback isvery easy currently, it still takes my hands off of the midi ā€œkeysā€ and takes me out of the flow of playing with my hands

does this exist anywhere already? it would be ideal for the elektron sequencers, imo

A lot more voices and I’ll keep mine.
But can it be done?

But it’s only 4 tracks. I am not sure what’s better: more tracks or more voices.

both :sunglasses:

Okay, let’s play. Then both voices & tracks or system stability? :joy:
