Digitone External Sequencing

A (somewhat) simple workaround for three note chords is to use the step before a note trigger microtimed as far forward as it can go with a second note, and a step after microtimed all the way negative with the third note, effectively letting you have each note of a chord having its own velocity, duration etc. If you need more individual notes starting at the same time, use a second midi track.

I’m turning to my Digitone Keys for the first time to sequence a piece of external gear.

p. 74 of the manual seems to imply that if I set ā€œMW/PB/AT DESTā€ to EXT or INT + EXT then the DK should transmit this data. But I can’t seem to send PB data out.

Then I found this thread that suggests that the DN/DK filters out pitchbend and mod wheel data.

Is it really true that the DK doesn’t transmit Modwheel, Pitchbend, and Aftertouch to external gear?!

EDIT: Figured it out. My confusion was between the channel shown in the MIDI track vs the track channel. Seems like MW/PB/AT is only sent on the track channel or auto channel, not on the specific MIDI channel set per track. Easiest solution was to set my external device to take MIDI in on the DK’s auto channel (channel 10 by default).

Thought I’d come back to the question since DT 2 is out. Does DT 2 Solve this problem with linear sequencing. It now allows polyphonic midi sequencing without cutting overlapping notes that are not on the same trigger?
