Holy moly, I absolutely adore this. A lot going on; could you break down what’s what?

glad you like it, mainly digitakt 2 on beats and digitone 2 for the synths and the snare & fx.
what i like a lot is to resample sounds from the digitone and beats ( digitakt )with the digitakt and mangle with comb filters SSR and slice mode and played in song mode.

Hi, I just got a Digitone. What’s happening to me is wonderful. A wonderful discovery.

I used to have original DT and DN five years ago. Decided to get the Mark 2 models last week and I’m having a blast. The synth engines on the DN are a massive upgrade.

Hey there,

first jam with the freshly acquired Digitakt II.
I bought the Digitone II 3 months ago and got an absolute blast on it!
Still a lot to learn from those babies and I must bought a better camera

I’ve got a Digitone 2 on loan, so decided to see if it does Gabber. I think it does…

(credits to @jeanne for some awesome sounds from her “curses” preset pack)

Nice vibes. Smooth sounds. Warm mix. Good restraint.

Cheers!

DT2 + DN2 in this one (I got the latter only a few days ago, so I’m still exploring its new features!)
The audio quality is quite bad on this one as I download it from Instagram (it was streamed live there), hope you enjoy it anyway  Questions and/or feedback are always welcome!

I think I’m going to sell my Digitone - but don’t worry, it’s all in service of buying a Digitone 2. That said, ever since the ratio offsets feature was introduced a number of years ago, there’s a project I wanted to undertake around exploring the Digitone for microtonal music and non-standard temperaments, so that’s the last outing my beloved Elektron box will be getting before I bid it farewell. There will be a release (with a project file provided, of course), later this year.

This is not the first piece I’ve worked on for this project, but it was sounding really pretty last night, so I thought I’d share it first, as a bit of a teaser.

PATCH NOTES: The patch is based around a temperament I spent a while developing before I started writing the music itself. Certain intervals are very sweet (the root-5th, root-6th intervals have almost zero beating for example), where others are tuned for a little more tension and ambiguity (the major and minor 3rds and the 2nd degrees of the scale all straddle each others’ usual functions, which sounds really interesting in some chords).

I originally wrote a semi generative pattern with all 4 tracks set to 16 steps and that sounded really nice, but then I tried copying the pattern to 64 steps, then shortening 3 of the tracks to 63, 62 and 61 steps. This created a pattern that feels grounded in each 4 bar section, but that mutates each time. I haven’t done the maths to work out how long you’d have to listen to get back to the original loop, but it doesn’t happen in this first 5 minutes.

This one is sort of cheating because I’m also using OT, but only as a performance Mixer

I know this is a little less popular genre, but I’ll show it because it has a lot to do with Digitone.
I made a meditation music album that I made with instruments tuned to 432hz. A lot of the sounds on this album are Digitone Keys, but you can also hear other instruments in the music.
