Hi everyone first post! I’m trying to connect my digitone and digitakt so that the DT goes into the inputs of the DN, midi out from DT to DN so DT is able to mute and change DN patterns, and midi out of midi controller to midi in of DT to go thru DN and control only DN sounds. Is it possible? So far midi controller controls DT but won’t get through to DN.
I think for the midi to pass from the midi controller to the DN
it would have to go out the thru on the DT wouldn’t it?
Then you wouldn’t be able to send pattern changes and mutes…
Maybe you would need a midi merger to merge the midi out/thru
to go into the DN so it gets both…
unless someone knows a better way or I’m forgetting something?

Thanks. I was hoping it didn’t have to come down to midi merge box. I tried the other way around with DN controlling DT and midi controller behaved exactly how I want but I prefer the bigger triggers on the DT for muting.
What kind of controller data do you want to pass to the dn?
You could use the midi channels of the dt for passing notes and cc.
If you only want to transmit notes and a couple of cc, that should be no problem as you alread have the right midi channels set up on your dt…
